This is in response to KrazyKat2009's Issues of the Heart challenge:
Summary: [AU]. Jim Kirk never joined StarFleet. He moved to California to escape his home in which his mother ignored him and his stepfather used him as a scapegoat for his frustration. Instead of becoming a notorious womanizer, Jim has chosen to lead a quiet life of solitude, living in an apartment complex, fixing people's computers and appliances for money. He keeps to himself, unless required to be around others in which he is unfailingly polite and respectful... but he uses his charm as a wall to keep people from getting to close to him. All of that changes when Jim goes to a StarFleet academic event to accompany a friend who goes to school there (not McCoy- who Jim can be introduced to later at author's discretion). Jim happens upon Spock, and cannot help himself from striking up a conversation after having read some of Spock's research in journals. Spock becomes intrigued of the intelligent young man, and wants to know more about him... but getting through Jim's barriers may prove to be quite difficult... K/S romance. No sex needed, but preferred. Would like emphasis on the evolution of their emotional/romantic relationship. BONUS POINTS: Please, PLEASE would like for Jim to be inexperienced in being intimate sexually with anyone (has issues with getting close to anyone enough for sex due to childhood neglect), but nonetheless is becoming intensely attracted to Spock. MEGA BONUS POINTS: Spock becomes patient, but determined, to win Jim's affections... and eventually leads to a lot of affectionate touching, comforting "snuggling", and maybe even some fondling. RULES? Have FUN.

I loved this story, but I do wish you had finished with Jim cheating on the Kobayashi Maru, fighting with Spock and forming a continuum with Abram's universe. Would have been pretty awesome, but dont pay mind to a silly fangirl who can't see Jim in an Engineering red tunic.
I believe Kirk should only wear command gold. (But of course, this is your story.)
Now, having said that, I absolutely adore this story, its awesome, better than your 'Accidentally in Love' and I think Knickknack is the best of all the felines in KS universe. Well done.
Author's Response:
Yeah, this is really AU, so JIm doesn't have to be a captain if I don't want him to. He might be one somday, but he needs time to grow and tiem to be with Spock.
DONE!!!!!
This is in answer to Shamrock220's A Place in Father's Arms challenge. It is a really long challenge, so I am going to summarize it. Feel free to go to the challenges page and look up the whole thing if you wish. Briefly, it goes like this:
it's set post-Nero, but Amanda survived. Jim and Spock are a couple. Sarek won't let them bond and threatens to bounce Spock right out of the Vulcan club. Spock tells him to get bent, and they appear before the High Council to do a little family mediation. T'Pau defends Spock and Jim because they are t'hy'la, the most rare and sacred of bonds. Not only does T'Pau allow them to bond, she arranges for Jim and Spock to spend a year at the new colony, with Spock on the High Council. For his sins, Sarek is shunned for one year; no one on Vulcan will interact with him on a social level. He goes off into the mountains on a pilgrimage, to get his head together. Jim doesn't want Spock's father to die, so he plants a transponder on him, hoping to keep him safe. Trouble ensues, but a happy ending will happen.
That's pretty much it. This will take awhile. Off we go...

I have no idea how I did not come across this story until now. I have practically haunted your profile page. Someone recced it to me on a website that I cant remember now.
Thanks, you just blew the paper I was supposed to write four hours ago.
Great story.. I particularly liked the Bones/Sybok line!! And Jim discussing vulcan virility with Bones on the bench! Ha ha! One for the ages!!

I hereby apologize for making you flunk, lol, but I'm glad oyu liked the story.

So, you have given Jim his perspective back - in a very beautifully moving way, I might add. You have made him accept his own inablilities and spurged him to move on. Can we assume that it means he will talk to the people around him (read Spock) so that they can "serve as guideposts"?? Are the boys going to be happy again?
On a less serious note, the vision of Bones' grandma chasing him with a Bible is very very hilarious and almost could be cannon. Well done. Looking forward to more.

Oh God, this hurts so bad! The boys need to communicate better!! Waiting for the fallout. Update soon
This story is a response to the S/U & K/S Forced Marriage challenge by dreamwind.
Summary: Someone at Starfleet HQ hears about Spock and Uhura and decides to have Uhura transfered off the Enterprise for having an affair with a supirior officer and still being listed under his command. They send the transfer notice to Jim, who knows Spock and Uhura are totally in love, sends a notice back that their information is incorrect. That Spock is in a relationship with him and he does not appriciate HQ using a 'rumor' as a reason to steal away his communications officer. HQ then responds by demanding that Kirk either have Spock transfered off the Enterprise, transfer himself off or that he marries Spock so that there won't be any legal issues that can crop up and prove detremental to his Command or Starfleet.
Spock & Uhura of course are PISSED when they find out what Jim did. Uhura refuses to allow that Spock is transfered off the Enterprise or that he marries their Slutty Captain and demands the Captain have himself transfered off the Enterprise instead.
Anon would prefer that Spock and Jim choose the forced marriage option and that Jim later transfers off the ship once he realizes he is in love with Spock and can't take feeling Spock having sex with Uhura through the marriage bond anymore. Would of course love you even more if somewhere down the road Spock and Uhura break up and Spock realizes what an idiot he is and chases Jim down to where ever he went to lick his wounds.

Hi, I think this is a great story. You have nailed Jim's voice perfectly, but why do I have the feeling that your spock is in love with Jim?
Update soon!
Now done!
As Meryl Streep said at the Oscars, someone is probably looking at this and saying, "Oh, God. Not HER again!"
This is in answer to Juni's A Bond That Went Astray challenge:
Summary:
Jim and Spock are newly bonded with the T’hy’la bond – the strongest and most unique of them, but this time the bond instead of helping, being an anchor, guiding light etc, is actually the main source of the problem for the two.
During the away mission the away team is attacked by separatists and Spock is injured. Kirk must leave him behind in order to secure the ship, save the crew etc, and Spock himself urges him to leave (the needs of the many…). With a heavy heart Jim leaves. Spock is captured and viciously tortured and abused. During that time the bond calls to Jim but it cannot reach its other end. After a week or so Spock is saved and he is on his way to recovery, remorseful Kirk doting on him and offering him every comfort. But there is a certain uneasiness between them. It starts slow – Spock not confiding in Jim about his problems, not wanting to have sex, later not even wanting to sleep in the same bed. It’s getting worse – Spock cannot meditate, cannot rest, eat, concentrate – he succumbs to some unknown illness. In the end it turns out the bond is responsible for everything. The T’hy’la bond has actually a certain doze of consciousness and when Kirk abandoned Spock and did not rescue him when the Vulcan suffered, it “decided” that Jim betrayed the bond and should not be allowed to be near Spock again. So it started to influence Spock’s mind in order to permanently separate him from Kirk. The thing is that the bond’s actions are killing the Vulcan in the process and a solution must be found soon in order to prevent it.
Bonus points:
The bond despite being part of Spock is not affected by his Vulcan (logic) and human (trust, faith) sides, so despite the fact that Spock knew that Jim had to leave and he was going to come back for him, the bond saw it as abandoning a chosen mate.
Spock Prime has no idea what is happening and cannot help. He tries to prepare Jim for the possibility that young Spock may die and I will love you forever if Jim actually has a real breakdown in his arms :)
McCoy being the one to sort out that it’s the bond thing and somehow participating in curing Spock
Lots of angst in this one, but a happy ending as usual.

Oh, and McCoy somewhere thrown in the mess.

Summary: Sending out a fake baby shower invitation complete with fake pregnant Spock graphic was a brilliant idea for April fool's day 2063. There's no way this could backfire on him. How was Sulu supposed to know that some male Vulcans can have a uterus?
Stupid Vulcans for keeping the cool stuff about their reproductive habits a dirty secret such as plant-based fertility cookies. Nyota is going to tear his balls off if Spock doesn't find him first. Pregnant people can be scary.

I spent the last five hours reading every single one of your stories. I absolutely adore them. By far, this one is my favorite. I would love to see Spock go crazy-ass hormonal on Jim or Sulu.
This is a brilliant fic. Update soon :)
This is the story that several people (yes, Wingstar, I'm talking to you) have been nagging me to finish. It is sort of a sequel to The Courtship of Spock's Father, but I explain enough in this story that you don't have to read that one first.
The premise is simple. Have you ever worked in an office where all the women's...um...cycles start cycling together? Well.....

There was this unfilled prompt on a fansite along this line... McCoy married to a Vulcan, coming to Jim for pon farr advice.
Your story is so much more juicier because the Vulcan in question is Sarek.
Awesome.
Author's Response:
True, that does add a little something, doesn't it? Glad you enjoyed it.
Now Complete!!!!
This is an answer to Monster Eater's Mpreg + Amok Time and Journey to Babel challenge:
It has occurred to me that after Amok Time, Amanda and Sarek were probably informed about that Spock‘s bond to T’Pring was broken. What they don’t know was that Spock’s Pon Farr was still lurking at the surface and was not over.
Spock chose to mate/bond with Jim and during Pon Farr, Jim gets pregnant (I’m thinking that there is some kind of device or something in the future that allows men to carry children. The reason got it was because it could only be implanted until a certain age and Jim was thinking towards the future aka if he never found someone to marry, man or woman, then he could get a sperm donor and still have a kid.)
Cue Journey to Babel when Amanda and Sarek arrive on board along with another guest. Sarek has chosen Spock a more compatible mate than T‘Pring and they brought him/her along to start to bond with Spock.
Bonuses:
- Spock refuses to tell his parents that they are going to be grandparents/Jim’s baby is his because of the strained relationship with Sarek (Spock figures that he hasn‘t talked to them in 18 (?) years and that probably won't change because of a child) . He also doesn’t want his child to feel like s/he needs to purge themselves of emotion to get his acceptance/love.
- Jim gets hurt (in the episode he gets stabbed). Spock, of course, is worried/freaks out in his own Vulcan way. Maybe he relieves himself of command because he’s emotionally compromised OR McCoy tricks him by saying that Jim is in labor and Spock needs to get to Sick Bay ASAP.
I haven't done a TOS piece in awhile; it's time. Besides, maybe I can work in the Trouble with Tribbles and I, Mudd!
This time, Jim's not in love with Spock--not now, anyway. So away we go...
