What a wonderful story!!  You do such a great job of describing emotional complexity,  I felt like I was reading a story about characters who I hadn't known before, but who were still in some ways wonderfully familiar.  And that scene in the briefing room just killed me.  The way you write tension is amazing.  Thank you so much for this!

Oh wow. That was just indescribably beautiful. You write love better than almost any author I've read. And the goodness, the nobility of those two men...I remembered why *I* love them. This was a fanfiction that depended almost not at all on the preexisting characters and world; I imagine I would have loved that almost as much if I'd never heard of Kirk and Spock in my life. As it is...I'm devastated by the beauty of it. Thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Aelin. I'm pleased that you enjoyed my story. It's nice to know I transmitted some of what I feel for these two incredible men. Thank you for responding.

I both loved this story and want to KILL you for not giving us a happy ending.  (Oh, I suppose it was happy in a lot of ways, but not in the way Jim--and I--wanted it to be.)  Are you sure there can't be a sequel in which Spock realizes that he and Jim are meant for each other...?

Author's Response:

Hehe XD I'm sorry, but this is the ending that had to be. With all the infinite possibilities, there are bound to be some universes where the two do not bond -- at least this Jim got to know what it was like, in one of the perfect universes.

I think this is the first mirror verse story I've ever loved. You are so good at making us feel the brilliance of Kirk and Spock's love in any situation. It just *sings* throughout all your stories. Thank you for redeeming mirror Kirk!

Author's Response: Thank you, Aelin. Your comments are very special to me since I have a lot of trouble relating to the canon mirror characters. Mirror Spock is sexy as hell, but much too harsh for my taste. I think Spock in any universe would be an honorable man. We caught a glimpse of that at the end of the episode. It was fun to play around with the idea of how he got to be that way.

And what are you supposed to do if he won’t tell you why?

Oops, sorry for bringing the argh! I... sort of have to shut up now before I give something away (I feel bad for torturing people, and that makes me want to go, "But wait, let me tell you about...!") but thank you for this!
