Title: Chapter 1: Of Peanut Allergies and Dr. Frankenstein
I'm so glad to hear you're joining the Advent! It's such great fun. I've signed up, too. This will mark my third year participating (the advent is one of the things I very much look forward to every year, for a whole month we get K/S, more K/S and even more K/S - so many stories and such wonderful art, there is nothing not to love there!) I have every faith that your contribution to it is going to be wonderful, I can't wait to read what you come up with! :)
So glad to hear that you've ventured into livejournal... have you joined the kirkspock community yet? It's the largest and most active K/S community on livejournal. If you're ever inclined to post your fics on livejournal, or link to the ones you've posted here, that's the place to do it.
You've probably got it all figured out already, but if you need help with anything livejournal-related, as far as posting under a cut, or linking to your fic posts, let me know. My livejournal user name is jaylee_g. :)
Author's Response: I actually don't know my ass from a hole in the wall when it comes to LJ, lol. But Ivycross and Amanda Warrington have said they will also help me figure out how to post my stories when the time comes. Amanda even sent me some example links. I'll be honest, I'm a little nervous about it. I had someone tell me via ff.net that my stories were crap, that my summaries for my stories were crap and condescending, even though I pretty much just copied what I saw everyone else doing, lol, and that my characterizations were crap, that my stories were saccharine and then she basically called me a carbon copy CMM (which really annoyed me because she and I are cool, but I NEVER copy anyone. I write how I write Grr!) and then went on to bash everything and everyone on the archive and that's why she sticks with ff.net and LJ, so ever since then I have pretty much been leary of communities outside of the archive. I'm worried about running into that person again...She really discouraged me for a while...I couldn't write anything but porn for a whole week LOL!
She basically scarred me for life, which I'm sure makes her day, lol. I don't even know why I decided to post on ff.net...I mean I haven't liked the site in years, but it's where I stared in fanfiction, you know? So, I thought I should post there too. I would post more, because people are still adding me to their favorites and following me on there but...there really are just too many people who get off on flaming. No more. Not ever. I hope LJ turns out better.
Everyone here has always been really nice to me, critqued my work to help me improve, always been kind about pointing out typos and being encouraging and I try to do the same too. So, I'm nervous about the advent. I already have two of the three stories I signed up for done and in the process of being beta'd...but...I'm still nervous as hell that I'm gonna get reamed over something by someone. LOL.
I haven't joined any communities or done much with my page, but if the stories I write ARE well received and the people are similar there to the people here...then I might post there as well regularly. We'll see. Thank you for being so sweet and offering to help me figure out the LJ stuff. I will probably take you up on your offer. I truly am clueless and I haven't had time (been moving, you know) to sit down and just take a tour of the site and the interface. I'll get to it this week...I hope. lol
Oh well, I'll look forward to seeing your word for the advent too. I do so love your fics, especially nu!verse. :D
