Hey Greywolf, I'm impressed with your writing.  This is another lovely story of yours (I've read a number of them) with a great plotline and good character development (which I find ESSENTIAL!).  Your versions of Kirk and Spock in this story are flawed heroes, which makes them more interesting than some of the more idealized versions I've encountered.  Like your style, your command of language (I'm an English comp instructor, so that's important to me :-) ), your skilled storytelling.

Look forward to the next installment of this particular series of yours :-)

Author's Response:

Thankee sai! (bows)  From a teacher this is high praise, I am honoured.  This story just got into my soul, and it's not all told yet.  Probably start putting the third up this coming week, and somewhere in the back of my head there's at least one more brewing.  Very pleased ye liked it ;-)>

Deeper Down by pepperlandgirl Rated: ADULT (NC-17) starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 22]
Summary: A sequel to One Wing. It's been one year since the Narada Engagement and four months since Captain Kirk and Spock found themselves stranded on Veridian III. While the Enterprise is called back to San Francisco to mark the anniversary Nero's attack, Spock is obliged to travel to New Chicago to attend Amanda's memorial service. Jim opts to go with him, never expecting to run straight into his own better-left-forgotten past.

Keep it coming!  I really enjoy your take on the Kirk/Spock relationship.  Can't wait for Jim to beat up on Spock's snotty relatives :-)

Quite compelling, excellently executed.  Gripping plot, well-written - important to me as an English instructor :-)  Like the way you depict the Kirk/Spock relationship.  Please keep on writing - looking forward to the next installment!

Author's Response:

Thanks :-) I think I'm writing this one quite slowly - but I will keep writing - I want to know how it ends ;-)

Absolutely lovely, Greywolf.  I sincerely hope you'll write a sequel - there's certainly room (Droxine's still at liberty, Spock is looking for healing, the Orions are still trying to get into the Federation, etc.).  I enjoyed meeting Cogley again :-)  All in all, you're a fine writer and have created a gem with your Dirhja series!

Author's Response:

Many thanks!!  Yeah, that fourth story's in here somewhere, just gots to find the thing ;-)>

Beautifully done - made me smile last night!  Dragons and my favorite pair of guys sketched tenderly from an interesting POV.  Well-written, too - an important criterion for this grouchy comp instructor :-)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!  I enjoyed writing outsider POV stories, and I also like having some SF with my K/S.

Summary:

A summit meeting has finally been arranged between the Romulan Empire and the Federation regarding the Narada incident, leaving Spock to deal with the concerns of a possible alliance, his counterpart onboard the Enterprise, and the emergence of new, or perhaps old, feelings.

Like the way this story starts, and the humanity of the characters (esp. Uhura and her interaction with the crew).  Read The Edge, and really enjoyed it (hope it will be finished one day :-) ), and this new tale promises to be as good.  Keep writing :-)

Author's Response: It will be, I promise, lol. I know my ending, I just have to write it.

As an opera buff - as you are, obviously -  and a dramatic mezzo who once could belt out the whole Amneris part (and actually liked the character, and what she did at the end), I totally enjoyed your version of Aida :-)  Nicely done!!!  You give T'Pring personality, something we didn't see in the original ST....

Read this story for the first time this week over the course of a couple of evenings and was enthralled by the sweeping story, the lovely characterization of the TOS crew, the excellent writing and storytelling.  Absolutely fabulous piece!  Something I'll reread on occasion just to remind myself of what's relevant in our lives - and so apropos right now (shades of Egypt).
