aaaaand. I'm back! YAY!  I read the lines

. His once-white robe had been torn and stiff with seawater, and they had let him change before the debriefings began.

And was all, EEE!!! YAY!!! At a continuation of this story. THIS IS AWESOME. My words always fail me whenever I try to review something, which frankly is damn awkward, but I adored this story so much. I liked how Spock was frantic to find Jim and then when I realized that his dream was really a dream I think my mouth fell open a little. Anyway. Suffice it to say I was pretty into your story. :D

Author's Response:

Aw, thanks! I always wanted the what-comes-next from that movie, so the prompt I got was a definite yay moment. I'm really glad you liked this -- thanks for taking the time to tell me!

Oh my goodness.  I'm coming back to this fandom after a number of years and this is ... wow. Words are failing me.  I'm sure you've had thousands of people comment on this or on the first story, but my god this is just so ... perfect! I feel all warm and squishy and want to give both of them a big old hug. Well, after knocking their heads together of course. :D  Maybe two or three times.  I loved seeing how you put all the story and plotlines in together. I've read a lot of fanfiction and I honestly think this is one of the best, most in-character, seamless stories I have ever read. Thank you so much for writing it.

Author's Response:

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write! It's great to hear that you enjoyed these stories. Your comments are so much appreciated. :)

This is beyond amazing.  I've come back to the fandom (reboot has drug me back lol) after awhile and know that I have missed so many wonderful stories. I really think this is my favorite of all the TOS fiction. My heart just broke, wondering if you'd keep to canon or not once they got to Deneva. I cannot thank you enough for such a beautiful piece of fiction.

Author's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review! Though I never thought to change canon, I did feel that there had to be more to it, that Kirk's family deserved more than what the episode gave them. I'm so glad it worked for you. And it's great to hear that someone has returned to the fandom. Welcome back!

Asymptote by tahariel Rated: ADULT (NC-17) starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 24]
Summary:

Prompt from jade_dragoness on st_xi_kink: Prompt: K/S. So, this idea kind of hit me out of nowhere. Pretty much following the tradition of aliens-made-them-do-it [only kind of inverted], in which Kirk and Spock end up at a planet where they are not allowed to touch each other [due to religious issues, politeness protocol, whatever].

Anticipation was not an emotion Spock had intended to allow himself to feel; yet, it made itself known despite him, and that it was never satisfied made it harder to suppress, each time the Captain walked past or stood near and conscientiously avoided even the brush of their sleeves.

Holy lord.  That was... awesome!  Idk why my vocabulary always seems to desert me when I review something, but ...

Spock and Jim were so in character, and the tension you created was absolutely perfect.  I enjoyed this story a lot and hope to see you write more!

Summary:

Written for the Star Trek XI Kink Meme prompt found here: "The Vulcan elders inform Spock that with the limited number of Vulcans of childbearing capability, it's his patriotic duty to mate with a nice Vulcan girl and start making some babies. To everyone's shock, Kirk encourages Spock to go through with it, insisting that Spock's relationship with him has already kept him from his own people long enough. Finally, Spock is reluctantly convinced..."

Somehow I hadn't caught this story before. I was so sad for them, then actually went "YES!" when Spock told Scotty to beam them up. This is a fantastic blend of angst and reality (well you know what I mean- reality for a fictional fandom lol) and a lovely, happy, schmooopy ending. :D

Oh my goodness. I think this is one of my absolute favorite stories. I had had it bookmarked for ages and had futzed around before finding it again, and OH JEEBERS am I glad i did. Your characterization, thier pain and even the sublte (then not so subtle) humor was beyond perfect.  Sigh. I'm just gonna  try to stop staring goofily at my computer now. :)

“Yeah you know, little Spock and the lieutenants.”

Okay I haven't even finished reading yet, but that made me laugh out loud, which really amused everyone on the train with me. Just thought I'd share. :D

Okay, now time for the real review. I was so happy to read this. First of all, I love longer stories like this. And while I first thought it was a kinky Aliens Made Me Do It type of story, It quickly turned into something that blew my tiny excuse for a mind.  It had eveything that I consider needed for an awesome fic

  • Angst (mild but still sweet once resolved)
  • BAMF!Uhura
  • Confused!Spock
  • Totallyheadoverheels!Jim

In conclusion, You are awesome. Thank you so much for writing this!!

Trapped on an alien planet, in an ice age thousands of years before the Federation even exists, Spock finds himself falling apart.  Back on the ship, Kirk fears his relationship with his first officer might never be the same.  (Reboot!verse remix of the TOS episode "All Our Yesterdays")

Oh man, this was so damn cute. Your Bones was spot-on and the initeraction between the boys had me wanting to smack them upside the head or give them a really big hug... or some weird combination of both. :)
