In this, and in all your other stories, probably the strongest character-wise Kirk I've ever read. It amazes me no end. And you do it without it being at Spock's expense. Incredibly good characterization. Thoughtful plotline. Thank you.
Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you like my Kirk. I work pretty hard at him. I love 'em both to pieces, and I'd hate it if I didn't do them justice. Glad the plot came off okay, it's my first stab at a plot-with-smut story, as opposed to a smut-with-more-smut-and-a-little-plot story :)
Kirk, Spock and McCoy visit Vulcan. Spock meets up with an old friend and Kirk doesn't like him at all.

Thank you!! I love setting stories among the movies, the older years of Kirk and Spock. Their characters were so much more mature and settled, and in some ways, more complex and fraught with issues...there's more to sink your teeth into (and I don't just mean Kirk's girth! LOL Although I fancy Spock rather liked that.) I'm so glad you liked it!

Combined episode tag and fallout scenario for Plato’s Stepchildren, one of the most disturbing (for me) TOS episodes ever. Consent issues aren't always about sex--not wholly, at any rate.
I cannot begin to describe how good this story is. Not that there's any need, everyone who read it knows it. But it still feels incredible on so many levels that I can't contain my admiration within. Sorry. ;-)
Your characterization is so freaking perfect, I feel like the rest of us should simply pack up our quills and surrender the field. It is amazing. Kirk comes in truer here than he does in the series, and with the same streak of brilliance from the best episodes. Spock is just... Spock. The two of them together, the interactions, the dialogues, the connection, it's all blazing with sheer genius. You can't write like that on thought, you have to feel it. You do. The scene at the pool with reaching out was the quintessence of that feeling.
This is a most disturbing episode, yes. I always wondered why it wasn't rated. I am a grown woman and I have trouble watching some of the scenes there. The scene in particular. And even though it show cases what is truest in Kirk and Spock, it's still painful to watch. I loved the job you did with the rest of the crew here. It's the hallmark of the true author, this precision with details, this willingness to create a world around the characters, not just a bed to push them into.
This story is simply superb. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing it.
