I went back into the archives and looked for this story after I read the sequel posted this week. It was well worth the search. Hope to see a trilogy if you are willing.

Ha ha, I liked the dialogue when Kirk found Spock in his room. "No." --"Who else does?" --"I do." Their lovemaking was really sweet. Spock sneaking out of McCoy's clutches was classic.

What a lovely story this is! I really love the way that you expose the likelihood that Spock would be quite severely affected by the cold of Sarpeidon. It's something that makes sense, and that I haven't seen done that often, and definitely not in this way. Lovely TLC from Kirk, great dictatorial mother-henning from McCoy and such a gorgeous image of life's strength and fragility, all rolled into one. This piece will haunt me in many beautiful ways for a very long time. Thank you for writing it! :) --Catherine
