A lovely, charming Christmas present, that's what this story is. I love its warmth and depth, the quiet dedication to one another, the way things fall into place bit after bit. I always appreciate stories where we see how life on a starship often interferes with interpersonal dynamics and how the possibility of loss is ever looming.
