I just adore this! I find this era and locale of k/s stories endlessly fascinating because there is so little known about the details from the movies. You get to paint in a lot of detail to fill in the gap! I, too, love the idea that Spock is very happy and comfortable with being affectionate with Jim at this point in him life. It's the Spock we all hoped he would grow into. Hope you write more stories in this timeline!
The moment where Kirk goes in for a hug in 'The Undiscovered Country' will never cease to be my basis for their relationship post-TMP. That's it, yup, frequent physical contact confirmed. :)
I do wish there was more, of course, but then there can never be enough Star Trek.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for reviewing!

I loved this. This line made me laugh. (Then of course he always recalls Jim's comparative piloting skills with anything less than subspace engines, and the thought disappears quickly.) You did a great job describing how cold Spock is feeling. Brrrrr I can just see Admiral Kirk taking over in Spock's class. Sweet story. Thanks for sharing.
Kirk's complete lack of ability as a driver is one of my favorite things :) And I can very much see him just situating himself cheerfully into Spock's life at the academy like he belongs there. Because he does, of course.
I'm very glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for reviewing!

What a beautifully confident, loving, depiction of Jim and Spock in their later years! The voices were absolutely perfect - they were mellow, assured and totally recognisable as TOS! The bit of 'sass' there, when they are 'discovered' by the student and Spock draws away from Jim rather more slowly than would be expected from our Vulcan, was great fun, as was Jim's reaction! Thanks so much for sharing! :-)
Haha, it's nice to think that Spock stops caring about what people think of him when he gets older. And TOS Spock is always, always sassy, that is a key character trait of his :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reviewing!
