Oh, my. What an interesting dilemma you've created for poor Spock. And, angel that he is, how like him to do the thing that's personally difficult but likely to be for the greater good.
I love the way you give us Kirk's feelings and internal dialogue without making him a sappy, non-Kirk-like character.

Oh, wow. Damn, this is a friendship story, and you did an incredible job with their goodbye's. Jim not wanting to make an emotional display, giving him the Vulcan hand salute, but in the end, he just needed to have something substantial between them, something felt. Spock suprised him, as he in turn returned the sentiment.
Gave me a lump in my throat...such sadness...Spock doesn't want to go...and is torn. You write so well. Shall read the rest as soon as I can...

Oh God, I felt the pain radiating from this page in waves!
JIM YOU KISSED YOU KISSED AND YOU DO NOT KNOW IT AND NO SPOOOOOOOOCK!!!
Thank you for sticking with me so far; no immediate return to pain-free reading, I'm afraid...

Meh... they're leaving each other! <Pouts> And they weren't even really communitcating with each other when Spock made that decision and Jim let him! I want to bash their heads together sometimes!
Oh well, going back to your response to my previous comments, I like your Kirk voice, and I love that you think of him as a tactician and agree that he totally is.
Thank you, a lot - in turn, I love the fact that anyone likes my Kirk voice! It makes an extraordinary difference to the enjoyment of writing to have someone out there actually reading.

arghgg! I can understand the pressures Spock felt to leave but obviously his best destiny is to stay with Jim. I look forward to the tortuous route to their eventual reconcilliation!
Thank you so much for bothering to review, it's really kind. And it may be a bit tortuous, so you may have to hang on in there...

Oh God... this is tough reading - how are they gonna cope??? I'm hanging on to your every word!
Not sure anyone's ever said that to me (certainly not my kids) - joking aside, thank you so much, so kind of you to write!
