We were to live the years together
Yet the truth is oh so bitter
I see you as you slip away
Today will be our very last day
for I cannot follow
I feel so hollow
Now we part
My T'hy'la My heart
Thanks so much for adding your beautiful touch to my poem...Heart warming and sad...

Wow, Denise. What a scene to tackle, you brave girl... and only you could do it!
Well, the image certainly helped me to find the words. I don't seem to recall such an expression on Jim's face..perhaps because the image is in black and white, and there is a sheen...around his face, a glow...it just emphasizes his sadness, like he is about to lose it. Having those words written across the image also tugs at your heart strings.
Thanks for reading and commenting. I appreciate it very much.

I've seen that movie like 20 times and each time anew I cry ;-(
It can't be helped. It's like reliving something traumatic in our own lives, but in this case we have it preserved on celluloid. Those feelings will never change. Thanks for reading.

"when we were younger" such regret, such sadness. Lovely as always.
Yes, when they were younger...they felt omnipotent, like they could take on the world...but this time, Spock's luck ran out...Thanks for reading.

We always came back from the brink of death.
It's true they always did. Jim thinks that Spock can do it again. And in a sense he does in Trek III. But, when you see your best friend...etc...dying in front of you, you become numb, and truly think, our nine lives are are done...Thanks for reading Nell...

Poor Jim. This scene broke my heart when I watched it on YouTube. I kept having to remind myself that he comes back.
It touches many people. These characters are like family, and we feel so much for them. Thanks for reading.

Oh my so beautiful but have to pull out the tissues because it just makes me relive that scene and still cry just as badly even though we know he comes back.
I never seen the movie in the theatres, just on my television set, years later after the movie came out. So, it must have been very emotional to have seen it with other people who love Star Trek and these characters. Spock's death feels like a close relative, so it isn't surprising that we feel it so profoundly. Thanks for reading and the review.
