LOL. Not the only thing of yours I'm reading. Even though I should be writing a prompt fic for the Thor fandom, I'm reading An Unexpected Journey again. My muse decided it hates me this week and I can't seem to make her work. Gah!

Author's Response:

Bad muse

Poor Jim. He is so in grief and then his lost love scares him so....

Hmmm. So he's only got a small window of time to get this done before those powers run out and he fades into the afterlife. Interesting...

Author's Response:

Bingo. Now quit reading my story notes to myself, lol.

Gary is such a great guy in this fic. That's definitely a change for you. LOL. And I'm sure Jim will see what Gary means about him dying eventually. Kind of wondering, since I'm sure that Jim and Spock's quarters are sharing a wall and bathroom and probably air vents, if Spock can sort of hear what's going on. I also wonder how Gary is still around. Questions, questions. Fantastic and Sad chapter. Will beg and grovel for more!

Love and cherries,

Wingstar

Author's Response:

They're not sharing a wall and bath in this fic. And as we'll find out, Gary's leftover powers from the accident are what's giving him the energy to 'linger' so to speak.

3 Chapters in two days. Wow.
Great.
Spock is great to Jim. Very well.
I'm curious to see where it's going on.

Author's Response:

Jim's about to have a long talk wiht his dead lover.

So Gary shows up at last - I wonder what kind of residue was left behind in those stones on the planet Jim buried him on...

If I were in Jim's place I would find Spock's company very restful - no prying questions and a calming presence, just what the doctor ordered (and he did!).

The sex-memory was very nice too.

I think this will be one of my new favourites!

Poor Jim's gonna think he's going crazy. I can see the problem ahead. Jim will be afraid to love Spock because he might die as well or something like that.

Author's Response:

No, Jim's going to be afraid to love Spock because he doesn't see that Spock loves him. Gary will help with that.

I had wondered if Gary would be visible to Jim or not and truth to be told I had thought that he wouldn't. Because personally I would have a hard time to fall I love with someone else if my old love still would float around. But you never take the easy way out, huh? Can't wait to read more :)

Author's Response:

In the movie this challenge is based on, the bereved heroine can see her lover's ghost, so I stuck with that. More will be explained in future chapters, I promise.

Uh oh... this isn't a case of Jim being the only one to see Gary, is it?  McCoy would call him unfit for command real fast...

Love the developing friendship of Spock and Jim, and McCoy's deviousness to get Spock to help Jim.  This is going to be a great fic, I can tell!

Author's Response:

Jim's no dummy--he won't tell anyone he can see Gary.

Good to see Spock trying to unobtrusively help Jim with his grief. And Gary's here! I wonder how he's going to help. LOL. Probably some crazy awesomeness. And even though I'm not a Jim/Gary fan, that was a hot bit you had there. Fantastic chapter! Will beg and grovel for more!

Love and cherries,
Wingstar

Author's Response:

Just mentally substitute Spock for Gary in all sex scenes, lol.

Lol, getting into the habit of reviewing BEFORE reading--just to thank you.

Saw the film..Alan Rickman..yum.

And I've always wondered why there is a Delta Vega in both TOS and STXI. Injoke? Fraternity?

..and off we go..

Author's Response:

Yeah, when I re-watched the TOS episode, I noiced the Delta Vega thing right away, which is why I added the note. It IS odd. Andyes, I loved Alan Rickman in that movie and in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. He was FAR better in that than Costner was.

I like it very much! This is definitely a different take on the relationship between Jim and Gary Mitchell and I look forward to what you will make of it.

I also liked that Bones employs Spock's help. More please!

the situation from Jim remembers me to a song : "The end of the world"

Songwriters: Crosby, Rob / Smith, Joanna

Why does the sun go on shining?

Why does the sea rush to shore?

Don't they know it's the end of the world

'Cause you don't love me anymore?

Why do the birds go on singing?

Why do the stars glow above?

Don't they know it's the end of the world

It ended when I lost your love

I wake up in the morning and I wonder

Why ev'rything is the same as it was

I can't understand, no, I can't understand

How life goes on the way it does!

Why does my heart go on beating?

Why do these eyes of mine cry?

Don't they know it's the end of the world?

It ended when you said goodbye

Don't they know It's the end of the world?

It ended when you said goodbye"
I ask myself if you know this song.

Author's Response:

Yes, I do know that song, and you're quite right--it fits in well with what Jim is feeling.
