So sad, but so perfect. I hate Uhura in this story.

I may be in the minority but I preferred this ending. Why do stories have to be happily ever after, that's not real life? And many authors are choosing to let the
"bad guy win" as it is- read some of PT Duetermann. I hope I spelled that correctly. I become angry at 90% of his endings, but I find myself waiting with bated breath for his next book.
I know we want to be read, I write in different fandoms, and I have learned, be true to yourself when you write. You'll be happier and you'll find that you still have an audience. Hugs

An interesting and intriguing thought that the breaking of a mental bond is so severe that it manifests as a physical problem.
I prefer this ending. There's less of Nyota becoming a crazy bitch. (although she is still a vindictive bitch)
Also I, personally, am not a fan of character death.

Spock being a touch telepath, well when he and Nyota were melded he would have seen her madness, and possibly her lie.
However, the grey eyes was a poigniant plot device. I preferred the first version, but that's just me. Romeo and Juliet type stories aren't my cuppa.
I like the fact that logical Vulcans can be moved to compassion when faced with the truth, that they would try to help a wronged mate to cope with the agony.
Well written, good story with imaginative plot devices. Good Work

Author's Response: Thank you very much for the review. I'm pretty new to this particular fandom, so its a little trial and error. I welcome any and all criticism to help my writing. Thanks for the great points. I'll keep them in mind. XD

Very sad (especially the alternate ending) but very well done. The only problem is if they had a t'hy'la bond, Spock would have known that Jim wasn't lying. but still, great story.
Author's Response: Thanks very much. I kinda forgot that part when i wrote it and when i noticed it, I felt kind dumb. I'll be sure to remember that little detail when i write again. Thanks very much for your review!
