One of the most memorable K/S stories ever written. This author says more from a distance (the eyes of the third person observer) than most can say very close in. I love this Kirk! And the Spock who is so secure in the relationship he has with his captain that he can say: it doesn't matter. A really refreshing look at an old subject, told without angst and with strength instead.

I was riveted from the first word--the description of Kirk! Great voice, evocative writing that wonderfully conveys obsession and menace but leaves you strangely sympathetic for the narrator at the end. I never read this author before, but this story is going on my favorites list and for it alone I'm happy I learned of this archive.

Oh my, this was different, in a good way. Seeing their love through a jealous person's eyes is amazing. The language is so precise and factual and yet conveys so much emotion. Thanks for sharing this story with all of us.

Oh, wow. I'm catapulted back into K/S fandom by the very first words - I remember this story vividly, and it hasn't lost its power. Kirk and Spock in the firelit room, glimpsed through the window... So gorgeous. Thank you very much for making this available to all.
