Ok, I can't stay away, and you're handling thing with your usual aplomb. Wonderful characterizations, Sulu sounds like a queenie thing though. I'm glad he's already become protective of Jim. Jimmy needs a good friend, and we all know for "magical results" it only takes the work of a fairy! (sorry a little To Won Fu humor.)

Spock seems truly sorry about his "prickishness", and more importantly his vulcan curiosity has been piqued. (Vulcan's apparently evolved from felines, so I'm betting curiosity is an inherent trait in the species.)

In this one is Jim still the son of George Kirk, and did the destruction of the Kelvin happen? If so Spock's gonna crap a latinum brick when he finds out who Jim is. Also he's probably going to be in a full "Vulcan" rage when he discovers Jim's past with his abusive family.

I look forward to the next chapter in your newest saga. I am eager to see Jim "bloom" under the healing touch of his Spock.

Author's Response:

Yeah, Sulu's a bit of a queen, but he's also putting some of it on for humorous effect. I like having a comic relief who's not Bones, and this Sulu keeps coming up with things that I don't even expect him to say, lol.

Jim is George Kirk's son, and George is dead, but the cirumstances are slightly different, since this is AU.

Glad you came back. Remember, I always do happy endings.

This is nice...you have so many wonderful things going here....it's like really seeing it happen before my eyes..your words are so visual....I love that....You take the reader along and it is so fluid...so easy to follow...I loved cranky old Bones...and I could see him eating that chicken leg waving it around.....just wonderful humour through out....and the end is so sweet...Spock has found someone he likes...and Jim seems to be clueless. Looking forward to the next chapter....there I am on top of your story....hopefully life won't make it run away on me...

Author's Response:

Jim is clueless because he doesn't think anyone really likes him. But Spock will change that in time. Glad you're enjoying it.

BONES!!  One of my favorite characters.  He's still married to Jocelyn in this story but she's still a witch regardless.  He's just as Southern and cantankerous as ever.  Everyone seem to think (and I agree) that Spock could have hired anyone as a gardner.  He wants Jim.  I loved the description of Spock's place and reading Jim's obvious excitement was contagious.  Something (obviously) bad happened in Iowa, and I wonder if Spock can pry it out of him.  Something tells me these two are going to be great friends.  What a great beginning!

Author's Response:

Of course Spock will pry it out of him, but this challenge requires a slow-moving, gradually intensifying story, so it will be a while, but there will be entertainment along the way.

I love the way things are developing smoothly,Spock's is planting the seeds of love...

Author's Response:

Exactly. This story needs time to develop, as does their relationship...

Oh yeah, another chapter - another reason to be addicted to your stories.
I'm pretty sure, Jim - being fascinated by all things Vulcan - knows about the meaning of that finger brushing, that's why he apologised quickly when he touched Spock while handing him the tea mug ...

Author's Response:

Yep, he's knows. What he doesn't know is that Spock didn't mind one little bit.

Good Spock apologizes.  He already likes Jim you can tell.  Poor Jim.  Love this story.  Awesome job as always.  Can't wait for the update.

I love Spock's apology, to both of them.  And it was so sweet how he started making nice with Jim.  It looks like he's already feeling something.  Is the whole garden thing just an excuse to get to know Jim better?

Can't wait for your next chapter!

Author's Response:

Of course it is. Spock will find plenty of reasons for Jim to hang around...

(shakes fist at the Archives) I didn't get notified your story had updated!  Luckily it was just two chapters I missed.   But I hate it when that happens.  This story is going so well!  I was mortified when Sulu took Jim to the gathering and Spock so rudely dismissed him.  I felt so bad for Jim!  But when Spock comes and apologizes to not only Sulu but Jim as well, it was wonderful.  It seems Jim has responded to his rough life by withdrawing.  Spock has responded by shutting out the world.  They've both been hurt.  Can they help each other heal?  I can't wait to read more!  Thank you!

Author's Response:

Unless I get sick (let's hope not), there will probably be a chapter each day. Glad you're liking it.

Wow. It's an amazing story! Please keep us updated. I loved your Sulu - it's so much like the Abramsverse's Kirk. Though the shy Kirk is a bit strange for me (I think it's due the myriad of fanfics I read), but I get on well with him from the first lines. The cat's adorable, too.

I hope that Bones will be added to your story - he's my fav. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Author's Response:

Yes, Bones will come along. And this Kirk is a bit different, but he's AU and I'm following the prompt, which calls for a Kirk who is not a ladies' man or a repeat offender.

I love your Sulu. He's so... quirky! And the name of this chapter was hysterically awesome. A cat! I miss my cat and Jim's got a cat in this. Good God, it's like your pulling little details out of my life and putting them into Jim's! And now I know I'm crazy because of course you're not doing that. LOL. Loved this and can't wait for the next bit. Will beg and grovel for more!

Love and cherries,

Wingstar

Author's Response:

I'm sorry you don't have a cat. I have three, and one of them is named Knickknack, so I decided Jim needed a cat. Glad you're enjoying the latest.

Wow, can we smack Spock with a rock for that one? Really, not knowing word one about a person and insulting them like that, I get that Spock was frustrated with being forced to be there but yeech.

Please update soon! I want to know how Spock is going to dig his way out of this one.

TfW (Thanks for Writing)

Author's Response:

Yes, bad Spock, but he'll redeem himself. I'll probably have a chapter up each day.
