Interesting story, but confusing to me. Did whatever possessed Spock, possess Sarek? Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Major character death never scares me away, I am just late in reading this. *g*

Thank you for posting.

Author's Response:

You're not reading too much into it at all. Sarek is indeed possessed and is carrying the virus/entity back to the colony. I basically killed the universe. =)

Thank you for reading! <3

Oh wow, that was horrible!  Horrible good, not horrible bad!   I'll bet it was painful to write, but you know, I think it is a good thing to see our boys in a variety of situations, not just the happy endings.  And most of us don't have the courage to write the real tragic stuff.

But I tell you what, although I much prefer the happy endings and schmoop, some of the stories that stick forever in my mind and really affect me the most seem to be the darkest ones.  The line in yours, "In another lifetime," made me all teary-eyed and lumpy-throated.

I thought it was great.  Horrible-great, but great!

Thanks for sharing!

Author's Response:

Thanks! It was painful to write and I teared up myself when I wrote the bridge scene. I'm fairly certain that I'll stick to happy endings from now on, but who knows? There's always next Halloween and a whole year of inspiration between now and then. ;)

Wow, just wow. That was depressing for lack of a better work, but that does not mean it wasn't good, because it was really well done. I do have a few questions. So what happen to Spock? Did he go crazy like the others? Why did he temper with the system? And why was the invisble force on the planet that killed the research teams? Is it just suppose to be unanswered?

And this isnt a question, just a comment. This reminds me of two different episodes in the original series, but Bones was able to find what was killing them and stop the whole ship from dying.

Well anyways. You did a good job.

Author's Response:

Haha! So many questions. I did leave it purposely vague because if the crew doesn't know what's happening to them why should the audience get to know? However, I've been asked a few times about what actually happened that I have posted an additional author's note on my livejournal that explains everything. You can find the link to my journal on my bio page if you're interested in all the details of the story.

Thank you for commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Ho-ly crap!!  Damn, nasty one, lassie!!  I do approve.  Zombie-disease, brrrrr!!!

Man, what a great bummer story!!  w00t!

Author's Response:

I will likely never write another story like this again. It was actually painful to write, but I thought what the heck, it's Halloween. Thanks for reviewing this one, I think the warnings scare off the majority of people. And, well, rightly so. =)
