Thanks so much for this poem, so gentle and so forceful. I love the part that says:"I have walked within the secret garden of his mind...and did deny the lesser intimacy". I think that there you caught to perfection what their relationship is like and why we are intrigued by it. I sometimes feel that when we do the slashing thing, when we dare imagine that the thin "dividing line" was broken, overpassed or did just vanish, we bereave their bond of its power and belittle it. Thank you again.

Author's Response: Hello again, angelocustode. I'm so sorry to have mnissed this lovely loc, but perhaps better late than never. Thanks for your very kind comments. They are highly appreciated. Poetry was never my forte, but there is something in the relationship that Kirk and Spock share that calls for it. Thank you for responding.

What lovely poetry. I read Ni Var by Claire Gabriel. A wonderful piece. This is truly stunning.

I love this part...
It is not possible to seduce with a smile,

ravish with a careless touch,

penetrate with a glance.

I have walked within the secret garden

of his mind, a yearning, verdant place,

And did deny the lesser intimacy.

Author's Response: Thank you for your lovely comments, Dahliaxat. The term, ni var, was used quite a bit in the early days of fandom to denote both the fraternal and then sexual relationship Kirk and Spock shared--the making of one out of two. I hadn't seen it used for years when I wrote the poem, so this was sort of an homage to those writers like Claire Gabriel.

Beautiful. There are no other words.
This is the essence of their relationship, in its purest and truest form.
They were never lovers. They were always lovers. Just.. *yes*.
Thank you!

Author's Response: Thanks for the kind words. I'm so glad you liked it. It's lovely to know that some of the feeling I have for Kirk and Spock actually made the transition to the printed page (or screen ;-) )

How beautiful. The nature of love in two accounts so different, yet it is identical to itself, and clearly known as such by both-- and us. Thank you!
