Division to chapters, man, chapters division.
It seems you have mixed the two stories that can stand alone, together. Story with Eddie until the moment she left that absence does not seem to affect the rest.
I'm mad at you because you saved the "Jim and Spock first time" for yourself! Cheapskate! All long story like forever (over a year, right?) And no sex, Where are Mercy?
But it was quite a adventure!

I really love your reboot take on this classic episode! You retained enough elements to make the story recognizable, but you expanded a lot on it and made it completely your own. I love that you made it a contemporary and changed the setting; Jim and Spock in current day New York would have had next to no chance of finding Bones, but in Calgary it becomes much more believable. There's something irresistible in the idea of Spock stranded in contemporary Canada, and it also flatters my patriotic pride *g*I love that they stayed there such a long time, that Edie had a job and a career she left to focus on, making her relationship with Jim something very true to today's era...it kinda sucks for Jim she didn't love him as much as her loved her, but it left him free for Spock so I say YAY... and I liked that there was no handy tricorder having recorded eveything the Guardian showed so Jim, Spock and Bones missed the turning point and had to freaking go BACK to MAKE Edith be killed. There were all those little touches too: Jim the pickpocket, eating ramen noodles , the puzzling post-its, Jim goading Spock into building a computer over McDonald.. so cool :-D And I love how the relationship with Spock developed slowly, out of friendship and forced proximity and bed sharing. The instinctive snuggling was too cute for words! I went all AWWWW the first night after Spock was recovered from his cold and they'd slept apart, and Spock confessed he'd been unable to sleep without Jim in his bed too :-D The ending wasn't overtly HEA, but the bit about them having trouble sleepign make it pretty clear they'll get back together and that's nice that way :). SO, a really nice story I enjoyed very much! Thanks for sharing ;).
Author's Response: Stranded in Canada? THE HORROR. Haha. Thanks for the great review; I'm really glad you liked the story! It took, seriously, so long to write.
