The 2009 movie is what got me into the fanfiction side of this fandom, but I've been a fan probably even before I was born as my parents watched the orginal series all the time. Kirk and Spock have always been favorite characters of mine and I'm gratful to the new movie for re-wetting my hunger and now I can actually appreciate and enjoy the slash. :)
