It has been awhile since I have updated my fics here and I appologise. I am still working on them and hope to update them soon. I know it is hard to wait on a fic so I appolgise in advance for that, but I want it to be a story worth reading, something you'll enjoy and want to re-read over and over. I am thinking on re-writing parts of A Trick or Eros and potentially adding some new chapters to it. I am also working on the new chapter of A Matter for Ma'at and once it is done will have it posted. After that I will likely not post anymore of A Matter for Ma'at until I have it done. That way I can update them faster.

Please feel free to comment here, on my LJ or on my Facebook page (Kat Dreamwind). If you have questions I will galadly answer them, and my FB page is regularly updated on which fics I am working on and estimates on when they'll be done.

I really loved this. I am a big fan of well written angst and Reboot is kind set up for that. I really enjoyed reading it and I kinda want to read a fic about the incident in the sealed file about Jim and the Klingon now. I have a feeling it would be exceedingly entertaining.

Author's Response:

*g* Thank you so much. I doubt Ill ever write the Klingon thing, it's so much funnier as this THING everybody knows about but no one will talk about XD Actually picking one of the possibiliities running through my mind means it won't have been any of the others, and that's just TRAGIC :D

I have one question, why does no one report Uhura to the academic board? Can't believe that Spock as a professor wouldn't lodge a formal reprimand for her intollorent behavior.

Otherwise I am enjoying this quite a but. Sorry about the nit picking.

I like the way this has started so far but I am going to have to skip all the graphic Spock/Uhura scenes. No offense to your Uhura or Zoe but nu!Uhura was written like crap in the movie and I can't stand her at all. If she was even close to how Mrs. Nichols portraied TOS Uhura I think I could do it, but I just can't stand Nu!Spock/Nu!Uhura together.

But the reviews on your fic have me interested enough that I am going to keep reading and hope there isn't a lot of Uhura/Spock still waiting.

OKay, so I've read a bit more and I am growing to like this story more and more. I feel bad for Spock about his break up with uhura but I'm also glad too.

Author's Response:

Thanks for keeping with it! I was also confused by all the S/U in XI, but, again, I didn't feel comfortable writing a sequel story to it without concluding that particular plotline. I hope that you keep reading and finding more things that you like!

Living another life by biddygirl Rated: Mature Content (Teen) starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 138]
Summary:

Originally called 'Existing'

This story is in response to KrazieKat2009's challenge called Another Universe.

Summary:

In an interesting turn of events, Jim Kirk (Abrams' Verse) gets transported to another Reality (transporter malfuction, alien technology, up to author's discretion). In this reality, when Nero destroyed the USS Kelvin, Jim's counterpart died as an infant. Jim is now on the Enterprise, where Chris Pike is still the Captain, and Spock his First Officer. Both of whom, among everyone else, knows nothing of him. (By this time, Jim has become a more mature person due to his Captaincy, losing most- not all- of his brash recklessness.)

Another major turn, in this Reality, is that instead of Vulcan being destroyed, Nero attacked Earth, devastating the planet into becoming inhabitable and its population all but extinct. The surviving Humans have moved to nearby colonies, some even staying on Vulcan, as it is one of the closest Federation-aliged planets to Earth. Until Jim can find a way to return to his realm- if he even decides to return-(where his Spock is in a commited relationship with Uhura), he has decided to help the people in the alternate Reality.

Guess everyone will get to learn who he is-all over again, including a curious- and single- Vulcan First Officer. Eventual K/S.

BONUS POINTS: In the alternate reality, Bones is still married, Uhura and Scotty are dating, and Spock is slighty more accepting of his Human side. (His mother still lives).

BONUS POINTS: Spock finds Kirk to be an extreme enigma- one he relishes in unravelling.

BONUS POINTS: Kirk finds this new Spock just as attractive as the one from his realm, yet unique in his own way. However, he is hesitant to let his attraction grow because he may have to return home soon. (Despite this, his attraction intensifies nonetheless as he comes to know the Vulcan who is so much like- yet entirely different- from the Spock in his reality.)

MEGA BONUS POINTS: Until Kirk can find a way to return home (assuming the author wants him to return home), Kirk is given a position on the Enterprise, in order to put his talents to good use. Maybe in Engineering?

ENDING: Up to author- James can stay in new realm to help rebuild/stay with Spock, or return to his realm. HAVE FUN.

This challenge just called to me and I am going to try and include everything. I can see that this is probably going to be a long one. Wish me luck.

I am greatly enjoying this story so far. I feel so bad for both Jim and Spock and I have to say that I really hate Uhura for ripping out Spock's heart and then stomping on it by hooking up with Bones so quickly. God, I almost hope she gets transfered off the ship and away from Bones so that she is forced to feel exactly what Spock is feeling.

Author's Response:

No, nothing that easy, but I'm glad you like the story.

If possible I hate Uhura even more for purposefully hurting Spock that way. A decent person does not do that to anyone, even an ex-boyfriend and good for Jim for standing his ground even though it means he's likely going to lose his best friend. If he had let Uhura get away with that she would only do worse. Of course I have the feeling she will anyway, I am just hoping that she doesn't do something that could make Jim lose his command. As it stands I am starting to feel bad that Bones is blind enough to Uhura's faults that he is going to end up hurt as well. Looks like it'll only get worse before it gets better or Spock and Jim. Poor boys.

As before this chaoter has been a good read. Although I couldn't help but laugh at Uhura thinking she had the bust to pull off a Klingon woman's outfit. No offense to Zoe but she looks to be an a-cup, so her Uhura could certainly NOT pull that outfit off. LOL

Author's Response:

I have to admit, I was picturing Nichelle Nichols in that outfit--the problem with working in both worlds, lol.

An Unexpected Journey by CMM Rated: ADULT (NC-17) starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 544]
Summary:

Now done!

This is in response to Kittygirl's Jim the Single Parent challenge:

This idea has been floating around in my brain for a while so I figured I'd issue a challenge to see what people came up with. This does have the potential to be rather long.

It goes like this:

While Spock is still with Uhura, he ends up having a drunken fling with Kirk, who is completely in love with him. Kirk somehow ends up pregnant with his child(it doesn't matter how you make this come about, either meddling aliens or an auxiliary uterus idea that keeps floating around or that Jim just can). When Spock is finally informed of the conception he decides that, since he and Uhura cannot have children together for whatever reason (completely your idea why), Jim's child be the perfect candidate instead and decides to take the child and whisk it away New Vulcan after it is born to raise it with Uhura. He believes Jim to illogical and reckless to raise a child. Enlisting McCoy's help, who thinks that its better for the child to be raised by Vulcan's, the trio keep a close eye on Jim in case he gets wind of the plan. When Jim realizes what Spock is planning, he puts in his resignation in Starfleet and leaves for parts unknown. Some years pass (more than 2 less than 7) and Jim returns as a personal favor to Chris Pike to command the Enterprise again with a little surprise in tow. Now Spock has to deal with a child that does not like him for the pain he caused its Mother(the kid has to call Jim mom)and the complete distrust of Jim with his child.

You may use any name you wish for the child, boy or girl. How Jim finds out the plot is entirely up to you. Uhura could tell him in a fit of anger at him, or he could overhear them talking or McCoy tells him in a fit of Conscience.

I would like it in the Abrams Universe, because I think a mixture of Jim and Spock would look so cute with Blue eyes. However this does come with a few stipulations.

1. Under no circumstances does Jim have any communication with the trio of evildoers until he returns to the Enterprise(I've always wanted to use that word). In his mind Bones, Spock, and Uhura betrayed him. Anyone else is completely welcome.

2. Sarek is the doting Grandpa... He can know he has a grandchild and is kept updated on the child's growth. I think it would be an awesome way to re-introduce Jim back to the Enterprise by having him and child picked up from Sarek's home...

And 3...

HAS TO HAVE HAPPY ENDING!

Since two of my other long pieces are coming pretty close to the end, I decided it was time to reclaim my crown as queen of mpreg.

Unavoidable by sonnyisforlovers Rated: ADULT (NC-17) starstarstarstarhalf-star [Reviews - 76]
Summary:

This story is a response to the S/U & K/S Forced Marriage challenge by dreamwind.

Summary: Someone at Starfleet HQ hears about Spock and Uhura and decides to have Uhura transfered off the Enterprise for having an affair with a supirior officer and still being listed under his command. They send the transfer notice to Jim, who knows Spock and Uhura are totally in love, sends a notice back that their information is incorrect. That Spock is in a relationship with him and he does not appriciate HQ using a 'rumor' as a reason to steal away his communications officer. HQ then responds by demanding that Kirk either have Spock transfered off the Enterprise, transfer himself off or that he marries Spock so that there won't be any legal issues that can crop up and prove detremental to his Command or Starfleet.

Spock & Uhura of course are PISSED when they find out what Jim did. Uhura refuses to allow that Spock is transfered off the Enterprise or that he marries their Slutty Captain and demands the Captain have himself transfered off the Enterprise instead.

Anon would prefer that Spock and Jim choose the forced marriage option and that Jim later transfers off the ship once he realizes he is in love with Spock and can't take feeling Spock having sex with Uhura through the marriage bond anymore. Would of course love you even more if somewhere down the road Spock and Uhura break up and Spock realizes what an idiot he is and chases Jim down to where ever he went to lick his wounds.
