I've dipped my toes in fandom for a couple of years now, it all started with Final Fantasy 8 on noire sensus and kind of steamrolled from there. I've read countless FF8, FF7, Yami no Matsuie, Ranma, Mirage of Blaze, Harry Potter and House MD fics over the years and contented myself with dabbling in fan art when the fancy struck.
Then something happened back in May, something incredible and Epic and henceforth known as The Fandom That Ruined My Life. The new Star Trek movie was released and after six or seven theater viewings and the metric eff-ton of cash spent on purchasing the movies and TOS dvds I started looking for fic. Next I found the K/S Archive and the Star_Trek_XI Kink meme on LJ. Then I was devouring fic, days and days of glorious fic found for a fandom older than me.
Then somebody posted a prompt to rewrite Denis Leary's A-sshole for ST_XI and I thought: Hey! I love song parodies... I can do that!
And now, after years of avoiding that final slide into fangirl, I am actively writing fanfiction and loving every minute of it.
If, in tens years from now, I'm a gibbering mess of insanity, the powers that be can come here and say "AH. This! This is where it started." XD
Kirk has the Enterprise, he's got a kickin' first officer, but does he have what it takes to keep it all?

A year after the events with the Narada, the Enterprise has left Kirk and Spock to complete a diplomatic mission. Things go wrong when Kirk loses consciousness and Spock realizes he's been given a powerful aphrodisiac.
Oh wow, that was just incredibly hot. Great job on the Spock voice too, I love how he had to struggle to remain detached. My favourite part though was the summary of the year he and Jim spent together! I would love to see some of those incidents fleshed out!

He's not crazy, exactly; it's just hard to live with all of these tangible ghosts.
I'd advise an edit for the html code fail - the breakups were distracting.
The fic itself though... I love this, so painful and poignant and beautiful.

Four memories/emotions Jim got from his meld with Spock Prime and one he got from melding with Spock.

After complaining about how ill prepared newly graduated cadets are, Kirk is volunteered to lead a group on a survival course but he manages to bring his first officer, and lover, with him. Originally published in the print fanzine Kaleidoscope # 7(1998), Emily Adams, editor.
Toatlly loved this story - your OC's were diverse and interesting in their own right and having Kirk and Spock rein them in was great to read! (Total sucker for academy/school/SURVIVAL training fic = me ;) )
That being said - poor poor Kirk. I mouth the sympathetic words but he probably deserved it right?

Hmm, I read the first five chapters of Apogee in one epic go around last time so I didn't really take the chance to stop and tell you what exactly I loved about each one.
As always the tone of your writing is beutiful, almost lyrical. It just flows nicely from the page to my brain.
You've nailed the Jim characterization and Spock voice and you throw in little details that break my heart. (Spock's longing over the alternate universe where he hadn't experience such loss.. *sigh*)
The rhythm of the dialogue beteen them builds happy images in my mind, It feels like a conversation instead of people talking at each other. (it's harder to do than you'd think)
So yes, big love for you. I can't wait for more :)

I loved the little snippets -
Spock and T-Pring are disgutingly cute and logical, and Spock's fear of cooties was made me grin as I was reading it. The entire scene was a beautiful examination fo his childhood.
The Aunt Fanny exchange is also adorable, poor young Sprocket, His Vulcany dignity so thoroughly comprimised by an over zealous aunt (no wonder he chose the Vulcan way XD)
The rowdy rommate Riley bit was great fun, "I loooove you man." Indeed.
Uhura's bit was sad, I loved how you built up Spock's emotions and showed the incredible loss he felt in this section. The part with her longing for him after, when they've become friends again broke my heart.
The Chapel section made we laugh out loud, Spock avoiding sickbay because of the unrequited love of the nurse? Perfect XD

The build up into their realizations that they care for each other was funny, I especially love the part where Spock analyses the medical entries and criticized Bones unprofession entry stylings (Also, Bones breaking Kirk's nose for being an idiot is hilarious)
Jim's analysis of the Captain First Officer life expenctancy rang true and I love how in character you handled the sexytimes - Kirk logicing Spock into sex could have been so very cracky but you've made in tender and beautiful and sexy as hell.Spock's sexy voice is becoming my new kink.

Fulfills many prompts on the ST XI kink meme, but the overlying theme of the story is a ST XI spin on what happened in the years after the five year mission was completed. Much of it is inspired by the original motion picture, though that exact sequence of events won't be happening here.

I love the tone of your Jim voice too, his prevasive sorrow about the changes coming on was sweet and his confusion on how to deal with Spock's feelings was perfect, so sad and lost about the thought of losing his first officer.
The interaction on the bridge was really well played out, the scenes flowed so naturally with Spock trying to make his confession and Jim wrecking it for him unintentionally. I was cheering him on when he finally jumped Jim and the whole scene was hot but the tenderness and bittersweet thread woven thorughout it was wrenching.
Well played, sir. I'm going to cry now.

This was beautiful. So very poignant. Jim's pain is a subtle thing, buried beneath his strength but you brought it out with a delicate touch, avoiding the slide into melodrama. I ached for him.
Your explanation for Spock's reticence on the katra rang completely true, I could not imagine ne better able to assuage Jim's fear.

Spock skipping his shift to fuck Jim senseless kills me. The shift from shy and hesitant when he's unsure of Jim to in control and domineering is incredibly hot. i have a kink for Dominant Spock and you hit it very hard indeed. Hit it, then rubbed it and made it purr.
I love how you caught Jim falling apart, the fragmentation of his thoughts and the moments where their selves merged was beatiful and really added to the intensity.
And the morning after was perfect XD It's on now.
