I've read many k/s fanfictions on the internet, continuously rating them and creating a mental list of my favorites. After read this I- no, WHILE I read this, the list inside my mind shattered. Im never going to think of Spock Prime the same, let alone any k/s tale or even star trek:tos the same. What you've created is a masterpiece, of genius design and structure. so in other words, AWESOME JOB! I LOVED IT! :D

Kirk has an allergic reaction that causes Bones to make some drastic changes to the captain's dietary restrictions, and appoints someone to monitor what Kirk eats for a while.

oh my. I think I know what story you are reading. It hit me after Kirk was swimming in the river to avoid the spears. Its about a man about to be hung during the civil war isn't it? thank you for writing this.
You are spot on my friend. I was indeed paying homage to the story "An Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge". And yes I did borrow the ideas from it and intertwined it with my own visions (Much in the same way that the TOS episode "Balance of Terror" was a homage to the movie "Enemy Below") I tried to capture that same gut wrenching ending, and I think I was able to accomplish that.
