Spock, in typical Vulcan fashion, has withdrawn himself from the Enterprise, her crew, and especially her Captain, and Jim is determined to find out why. OR: If a Vulcan has an emotional reaction, and there’s no one around to see it, does it still have any impact?

At the end of the movie, the older Spock did not seek out his younger self and encourage him to stay on the Enterprise. It falls to Jim to convince him. This is how he does it. In other words, how to outfox a fox, when the fox is a Vulcan.
I love that Jim couldn't see that his whole plan was going to lead Spock to question him about why he cared in the first place.

Written originally for the st_xi_kink meme on LJ for the prompt of shenanigans in the Captain's chair, but the kink element is mild at best (dirty talk, anyone?). Attempted Spock PoV, but I'm still dubious about the relative success in pulling it off. Note: Set in Abrams 'verse.

I just loved this. Spock Prime is such a crafty little Vulcan, isn't he? I felt so bad for him that he never got to experience his T'hy'la in the way he wanted to, and glad that Jim and Spock were able to find their way to one another after all. Thanks for sharing this with us.
