Some one asked for Kirk/Spock/Chapel before there was much around. *shrug* Mostly sex with just enough story to plausibly argue otherwise. Set between the teaser and the story proper of For the World is Hollow.
This story is definitely one of my favourites in the archive -- I absolutely love your characterizations of Kirk, Spock and Chapel - they are fantastic! It's nice to read about a Spock who's not bothered by Kirk's sexual indescretions, and about a Chapel who's not mooning over Spock! I especially love your Kirk too!

A few days before Kirk assumes command of the Enterprise, he and his Science Officer have an unexpected encounter. For their own reasons, they are both in disguise and don't recognise each other. Guess what happens... This is a rewriten version of the one that appeared in T'hy'la 11 in 1992.
Oh man - I absolutely loved this!! I think it's my favourite of your stories that I've read. The ending was perfect, though I do find myself wishing for more!

It was originally published in a zine and someone did actually write a follow-up to it (published in the next edition of the same zine), but I don't think it's ever been published on the net. I remember it began with a misunderstanding and went downhill from there! But it did have a happy ending. :-)

This story is so amazing -- one of my favourites ever -- your writing style is so brilliant.
An exploratory Enterpise landing party is captured and Kirk faces a mindsifter interrogation.
Really enjoyed this - great h/c! The only question I have is what information Kirk's mind revealed to that Cracian guy. And whether Kirk would have contemplated dying/committing suicide rather than revealing federation secrets.
Also just wanted to address one of the criticisms below to say that you certainly can have anal sex without lube if you've done it enough times. I thought that part of the story was absolutely fine.

At his first officer's request, Kirk diverts the Enterprise to New Vulcan so he can marry T'Pring, who survived Vulcan's destruction. However, when Spock gets there, he finds his wedding doesn't go according to plan. This is Pon Farr with a reboot twist.
Wow - I loved this! Really, really beautiful - I especially loved your pacing and your characterizations of Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Uhura. I also loved how they ended up monogamous accidentally! I can't quite see them as monogamous without some kind of specific reason for it, so this was great. I think this might be my favourite of yours.

Oh I absolutely loved this story - your Kirk and Spock are always so in character; I think you are probably my favourite author just in terms of how true your characters are to what was shown on screen.

Wow - just finished reading this companion story and I loved this as well!!!! I especially loved your characterization of Uhura -- I absolutely hate Uhura-bashing (I almost feel like it is reflective of an undercurrent of misogyny in K/S fanfiction) and it's so nice to read about Spock's genuine love for her here.
Gosh - have to say I'm also surprised that this story doesn't have more reviews! Seems like the best stories in this archive have the least number of reviews sometimes!
So glad you enjoyed this version too! :) I'm aware how Uhura is sometimes shown in a negative light and I've gone to some effort to not to go down that road myself. In my story, Slow Beginnings, the relationship between Spock and Uhura lasts until gone halfway through the story and their final split is amicable.
As for reviews, I think a lot of people read but don't comment - Silver Lining has been read over 24,000 times but has only 18 comments! I know there are some very prolific writers on the archive who seem to have a large fan following for all their work. :) Perhaps another reason for the lack of comments is because this (and all viritually all my other stories) was posted in one go, rather than as a serial, where each person only leaves one comment, rather than leaving one at the end of each chapter. :)

After reading a few prompts about Spock leaving Kirk after a 'misunderstanding,' I decided to try my hand in it.
After being wrongly accused, Jim's life is thrown off course. He returns to Iowa to drink away his guilt over a situation, he had no control over. When the true is revealed, can the Enterprise get their Captain back before it's too late?
Really enjoying this - I actually love your writing style - it's very dramatic and fast paced. Too much of fanfic reads like romance novels I think - your writing is a welcome, distinctive change.
Vulcan is slowly emerging from its barbaric ways. The reformed Vulcans of Surak and the Vulcans of the old ways have had an uneasy truce for decades, but war has finally broken out. James Kirk and his family were captured and sold to a Vulcan when he was a child, and has grown up on Vulcan. He will fight along side of the reformed Vulcans to keep his freedom and to prevent becoming the slave of a sadistic Vulcan.

Thanks! I loved when TNG occasionally would bring in an original character and I wished they had done more of those. If you ever get the chance, watch Deep Space Nine's "Trials and Tribble-ations". It has to be one of the best crossovers ever done. Really happy you're enjoying this.
