I love Spirk. That pretty much sums up majority of what I do in my spare time. Because of school (and sometimes work) I can't update as much as I like, but I do my best. I will always finish a story I start no matter what. Even if it takes me 7 years.... (yeah that actually happened once). All I want to say to the readers is review and be nice about it. Authors are people too and they work hard to put up their stories. It's a nerve wrecking thing to put yourself out there.

COMPLETE!  AU - Kirk has moved into an apartment and wants to get to know his neighbors. He meets his neighbor Spock, a loner who suffers from extreme agoraphobia. Kirk thinks he's a beautiful enigma.  This is my second attempt at an AU, although I hope to incorporate a lot of elements from canon into it.  Written for the Star Trek XI Kink Meme prompt found here.

Robin Hood originally published this story in Within the Mirror 9 in 1994.  My thanks go to Robin and Jenna Sinclair for their excellent editing skills.  Whatever mistakes remain are solely my own.  Thanks, Lyrastar,  for your patience and technical savvy.  (I am clueless when it comes to getting stories up on the web.)

I think of this story as Mirror Lite.

Great Story. It's hard to find decent mirrorverse stories not revolving around sex. I'm writing my own mirrorverse and its good to get some ideas flowing to see how others portray the universe. Your story was very heartwarming. I only noticed three mistakes grammer and dspelling wise, but it didn't detract from it and you did warn ahead of time. This story definitely deserves mre reviews than it has.

Author's Response: Thanks for your loc. As a teacher, (well, retired teacher), I am very concerned about errors appearing in my work, and I know they do despite how many times I review a story before it is published or posted. Please write back and identify them for me so I can correct them. I appreciate your input.

Glad you like it so far!  Well, the cliffhanger sucks for you, maybe... *evil laugh*  There will be answers soon.  Thank you for reviewing. Go Spock for talking back to Sybok!

I can't help but be a bit perturbed. I'm sitting there going yes, Kirk, soothe him, show him some of that kindness you got burried down so far deep that no one nor yourself can see, then he opens his mouth. God he needs to stop opening his mouth. He could have gotten spock so many times if he'd just shut up.

I definately think T'Pau should discuss what she saw in Spock's mind to McCoy. Maybe he can figure out the Tarsus thing together. SArek should definately dwell on the (beginning to be very obvious) contradictory behavior Jim is showing. We'll see what happens I suppose. I also think Spock deserves a reward for saving Jim's life.

Update soon!

Author's Response:

Thanks for this awesome review.  I chuckled at this part: "...then he opens his mouth."  Kirk does indeed have kindness deeply suppressed, but he also has a part to play that is expected of him in the brutal world in which he lives...so it's a tough situation.  As for a reward for Spockh, well, that remains to be seen.  Working on the next update.  Thank you for reviewing and reading.  Hope to hear from you during future updates. ~ RK

Issues of the Heart by CMM Rated: ADULT (NC-17) starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 397]
Summary:

DONE!!!!!

This is in response to KrazyKat2009's Issues of the Heart challenge:

Summary: [AU]. Jim Kirk never joined StarFleet. He moved to California to escape his home in which his mother ignored him and his stepfather used him as a scapegoat for his frustration. Instead of becoming a notorious womanizer, Jim has chosen to lead a quiet life of solitude, living in an apartment complex, fixing people's computers and appliances for money. He keeps to himself, unless required to be around others in which he is unfailingly polite and respectful... but he uses his charm as a wall to keep people from getting to close to him. All of that changes when Jim goes to a StarFleet academic event to accompany a friend who goes to school there (not McCoy- who Jim can be introduced to later at author's discretion). Jim happens upon Spock, and cannot help himself from striking up a conversation after having read some of Spock's research in journals. Spock becomes intrigued of the intelligent young man, and wants to know more about him... but getting through Jim's barriers may prove to be quite difficult... K/S romance. No sex needed, but preferred. Would like emphasis on the evolution of their emotional/romantic relationship. BONUS POINTS: Please, PLEASE would like for Jim to be inexperienced in being intimate sexually with anyone (has issues with getting close to anyone enough for sex due to childhood neglect), but nonetheless is becoming intensely attracted to Spock. MEGA BONUS POINTS: Spock becomes patient, but determined, to win Jim's affections... and eventually leads to a lot of affectionate touching, comforting "snuggling", and maybe even some fondling. RULES? Have FUN.

I don't know. I think Sulu could fight Spock on that. After all, is it logical to hold a human, who's brain is wired differntly to Vulcan standards? It would be similar to expect a human to be able to lift the same amount as a Vulcan when they have 3 times human strength. See! Out logiced Spock. Still, interesting beginning. Can't wait to read more.

Yeah, not really a formula since as it stands its 78 is greater than 467.83 which is less than 865. Perhaps (x ^ 4.78y / 4 Pi D) log(62.98D/2). That looks more formula like. I know you said you don't care but . . . engineering major. You got to at least have some variables in there. As for the story itself Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmn Spock, you cold.

P.S. (you probably don't care since you finished this so long ago) Found a spelling error in this chapter and the last.

Abit shocked Spock used so many human phrases (probably to rub it in SArek's face), but I am a bit sad Sarek is portrayed as a heartless jerk. Truth be told, Sarek is on of my favorite characters (After Spock, Kirk, and Bones). After all, he loves his son just too proud to admit it or when he's made a mistake, but I can never forget the way he defended Kirk and Spock (then again he brought Spock back from the dead soo....). However, Spock being protective is just great. Loved it.

The Vulcan Who Fell to Earth by CMM Rated: ADULT (NC-17) starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 258]
Summary:

All done!

This is in answer Skutch's An Alien on Earth challenge, which goes like this:

In the 21st century when Earth people are not yet aware of life on other planets, a Vulcan who was sent to study Earth is forced to land because his ship is damaged. He speaks English because Vulcan has been studying Earth for quite some time now. The ship is damaged beyond repair so he manages to destroy it completely (wouldn't want people finding alien spaceships lying around) before he faints. The Vulcan is found by a 18 year old boy who takes him to his apartment (have fun coming up with how he manages to do that). The Vulcan wakes up soon and the boy wants to take a look at his wounds. He is too weak to resist and he fails to push the boy away before he removes his shirt and sees wounds covered with green blood.

I don't want him to accept the fact that the man is an alien too quickly, after all it really would be quite shocking, so please take your time with the story. Feel free to continue any way you think would be best, perhaps change the beginning of the story too, if you'd like.
I'd like to see a strange sort of friendship first evolve slowly, James trying to teach Spock about his culture, Spock having a very hard time understanding certain concepts, Spock finding himself telling James things he should not be telling a human, protecting him from people who cause him harm, etc.

This will probably be a very long fic, and I'm not sure where it's going or who else I'm going to bring in, but....

A couple of points for the sake of clarity:

1. Spock's full Vulcan, not a half-breed (This is AU; I can do tht).

2. Spock does have emotions. His people are strong and stoic, but not particularly repressed. So he may actually smile once in awhile.

The Illusion of Something More by TDazz Rated: ADULT (NC-17) starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 202]
Summary:

Spock's years as a cadet were the worst of his life-- he spent those years homesick, lonely, uncertain if he had made the right decision, terrified that his father would never forgive his choices. The only bright spot came from an unlikely source-- a virtual companion who would tell him anything he wanted to hear for 75 credits an hour.

Jim was too young to be on his own. He was too young to have his own apartment, too young to hold down most jobs. Certainly too young to be selling his services in the sex industry, but no harm done. None of it was real. At least, not until a homesick Vulcan looking for companionship stumbled onto the channel.

What ensued was an addictive, steamy relationship where the lines between fantasy and reality were sometimes blurred beyond recognition. Some parts were painfully real, including the distance that separated them. There was no overcoming that.

At least, not until two weeks into the Enterprise's first five-year mission, Captain Kirk recognizes his First Officer as the client he had fallen in love with when he was just a rebellious teenager. Then it was just an illusion, but now it could be something more.

I find Spock being more sexually active than Kirk in any reality hilarious. Even more funny because if it wasn't for Kirk Spock wouldn't have been like that in the first place. I had to admit that the conversations Kirk had with the computer was hilarious. Who know the Enterprise's computer was such a smart alec.
