What fantastic present, D!!! Xmas came early, hehe. This is my second attempt to write this review, as the site logged me out the first time. Que a Spockian growl....

Anyway - this is yet another gem, and absolutely gorgeous rendering of Jim and Spock's bond. I love how you write Spock's internal conflict between his atavistic drive to protect his mate and child, and his love of Jim's adventurous spirit and corresponding fear of squelching that part of his t'hy'la. I can see that Spock has taken to heart the lesson he learned about how his protective nature can negatively affect Jim (A Small Family Affair).

I also love Jim's evolution here. He is so clearly longing to fully embrace parenthood (motherhood, lol? Gestationally-speaking anyway...), and is conquering his fears. With the help of an exasperated Bones, among others, hehe.

Other things I like: you don't write futuristic medical issues, using 21st century technology. Like with the 3D holographic tech. THANK YOU. Also, the comment from Bones about X-rays, lolol. I saw what you did there! It's a point of annoyance when I read other authors' takes on pregnancy in the 23rd, 24th, etc. century and they are apparently still using ultrasound machines, for example. So much eye roll here, lol.

I also am excited for this new adventure!! I want to see how Jim really starts to bond with his daughter, the emotional highs of when she is born. And what of the mystery long lost Vulcan cousins?

But more than that, I am just in love with your Jim and Spock. You paint their bond in brilliant color.  You make me keep coming back for more. Your stories are like a drug, and I'm an unrepentant addict.

Thank you!!!

I was so hopeful that, like last year, you'll give me one more of your stories that I love so much, and ..... Thanks! I received my present before Christmas. I love your storys and always read them when I need a break from life. My absolute favorite story is "Straight on 'until tomorrow and cross the space between them but also Innocence (which I always read when I need a smile) .I think I like both stories more than your others because spock and Jim in the beginning of the stories are divided and have to approach again or even the magic of the first approach unfolds and especially because Jim seems a bit older and according to your information is indeed! That's what I missed in the latest story. i personally love your jim if he is a little more independent and grown up. i am a tos fan like you and i find your integrated pike so great. i missed in your new story the tension between our two darlings and your otherwise exciting turns. I hope I may say that to my absolute favorite author, with the following sentence: I love every story and Thanks you for your work. tey are more importan in my life more than I can tell you. Sorry that my english is so bad and Merry Christmas and a lot of love from Cologne

Author's Response:

You are sweet.  Thanks for reading and the feed-back.  It is hard for me to come up with new ideas for "relationship beginnings" AGAIN.  It's just been saturated and there are so many wonderful approaches from so many far superior writers in this archive.  I'm kind of moving on and letting the Boys have a happy life together now?? I am always living in this world, though, so maybe I'll start at the beginning with a different timeline someday.

Thank you for the Christmas present. I enjoy your stories so much. Your Star Trek world is so real and detailed I want to go visit.

Thank you for reading.  I wish I lived there!  Have a wonderful holiday--there are fantastic places to visit on this planet too.
