I didn't get a chance to read the Advent over the holidays but I'm now working through them and oh! this was a delightful start. What a perfect wrap-up to that amazing vid :)
Thanks Rhaegal! Glad you enjoyed it. It is the MOST amazing vid, isn't it?

Ah, how much I love this being reunited with the beloved after a long time of longing for that which completes, for the home where the heart can finally be at peace, for the haven where nothing counts but that what has been parted is One again at last.
:) Thanks, friend!

That was gorgeously written; I especially enjoyed their meld. You do this so very well.
I do have trouble, though, picturing a James Kirk who's willing to accept an illusory paradise over reality; from "This Side of Paradise" to "The Apple" Jim Kirk usually dismantles paradises and insists that everyone live in reality...
Of course, in our own illusory paradise, Kirk and Spock are eternally alive and in love, so I guess you've created a Nexus for us all. :-D
Yes, I know what you mean. Kirk in TOS is always a skeptic. *shrugs* The "Kirk-accepting-an-illusory-paradise" thing is canon... all the more reason for setting out to fix Generations!
My argument here is that he has the ultimate reality with Spock, and as long as they are both aware of being caught up in an illusion, it's an illusion they contribute to. And hey, they have each other. Beyond the confines of the story, I'd imagine that they keep frolicking for as long as they desire (or until they feel they've had enough illusion), and then Spock would leave the Nexus when Picard collects Kirk to help on Veridian III, and Spock dies there with Kirk (off camera), and that both deaths are chosen. I couldn't really write that into this story, though.
Thanks for commenting!

Thank you again. So kind of you to take the time to reply. I do have a few more very short questions, so with your kind permission I will send a short email. it will be from oaktree (at) fairpoint (dot) net.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

That was so beautiful! Thank you. I just watched the vid, with tears streaming down my face; the song and images go so well together. Your story makes such a perfect transition from the video!
I sincerely hope you don't mind answering one question I have. I have some story ideas and would eventually like to post to either this site or A03. Is there a good reference site I could access, or perhaps a chat forum, where I could find some of the Vulcan phrases I see in other fics, or just to make sure I put a starbase or planet in the correct location. I want to keep my stories as close to canon as I can, and it seems in some cases authors seem to build, or take elements, from other works.
Please forgive if I've overstepped in posing these questions in a review. I always look forward to your new stories!
Hi 4dogshome. The common go-to site for canon is Memory Alpha, and if you want supplementary material which isn't canon but is in the official books, Memory Beta. If you're looking for assistance with Vulcan language, check out the VLD, which is the one I use. There are other sites out there to help with Vulcan grammar etc, but it's 1am here and I am too tired right now to look for them! If you'd like to continue the conversation by email, I'm happy to do so. ashayatreldai (at) hotmail (dot) com.
I'm glad you enjoyed this story, and my others!
