"This story was written for love, not money.  I only wish that the script for Reboot #3 would be written with as much love as fanfic authors have for the subject. ;-)"

so true, so true!  They really need to respect a relationship that defined friendship for decades - for trekkies and I think non-trekkers, too, even sometimes beyond the actors themseleves. Especially for the reboot, they have actors who not only seem to have GREAT chemistry but also seem to like each other and acting together

Thanks for commenting!  I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers and hope for the best.

I love the talk between Spock prime and Jim, I hope that Jim will be able to form a friendship and more with his Spock over time.  It'll be great to revisit them if you have the inspiration to write about their adventures :)  I agree with you, I wish that the script for reboot 3 would be based on fanfics (with help from the writers), I feel that the fanfic writers who have a genuine love for the series do a better job of writing then someone who only gets paid $ for a script :(

Author's Response:

Thanks for commenting; I'm glad you enjoyed the story.  I adore Spock Prime and never get tired of him. :-)

I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers and hope the writing team for Reboot #3 includes people who love and understand Star Trek.

You are so right - they are not really that different at all.  Obviously in things like 'oh well Kirk is blond and Spock is dark' and 'Kirk is short and fat but Spock is tall and skinny' like whatever, but the important stuff - as in beliefs and values they are in agreement.  Belief in freedom, learning, morality, embracing others and so on...

Author's Response:

Yes, and that's part of what makes them fun -- that essential similarity underneath the surface differences.  Part of why K/S has survived for nearly 50 years, after all, is because we all recognize what kindred spirits these two are.  It's not "Opposites Attract," it's "Birds of a Feather Flock Together." ;-)
