QPid?  Fab! What an inspirational play on words and what a fun twist on the 'Q' powers!  Q is always REALLY annoying (in a sort of arrogantly, bumbling & idiotic way... ) for me) and you brought that familiarity into this story brilliantly!  I was REALLY annoyed at him and... I was leaking a bit at Jim's reaching such an advanced age!  Lovely! A very entertaining read!  Thank you!

I'm not fond of Q and I'm not usually into Valentine stories, but - being you the author - I just had to read this story all the same. And I really think it is funny and sweet at the same time. I loved Jim's thought-monologue in sickbay, it is like a bubble of calm, clear, honest self analysis in the midst of convulsive happenings.

I like the idea of the two of them growing old together, they totally deserve savouring this simple feeling at all ages!

Author's Response:

*laughs* oh bless you for being such a fan! And you're absolutely right: our boys totally deserve to grow old together in peace. thanks for liking the story, sticking with it in spite of your reservations, and for leaving a comment!

FWIW, Q is meant to be an obnoxious anti-hero, which is why he kind-of works as Picard's and then Janeway's foil (at least in Next Gen and VOY). I'm not much one for Valentines anything - it's a bit redundant being a single person really. Oh well. I get loved on plenty by my cats... that's enough for anyone. Right? :-P

OH! I just loved this. I have the biggest smile on my face. You have a great sense of humor. I laughed so many times, and I was also blushing and hiding behind my hand. I love when Spock gets out-of-his-head romantic because of aliens. Sigh. Thanks so much for sharing!

Author's Response:

Thank you! I am glad it made you laugh, museattack. Thanks for leaving a comment! ("If comments are the food of love, play on...")

I thoroughly enjoyed this, actually burst out laughing at one point! It ended up being  more bittersweet than I expected, that's just me though I like to think of them eternally young...

Thank you for a lovely story :)

Author's Response:

Oh I know, it's nice to think they are young forever, isn't it. I've been spending alot of time thinking about our boys and aging and how tragic it is when love that is so strong appears to be severed by death... Though they say that love is strong as death - stronger, and passion more constant than the grave... So...

In my head, were this fic to continue, it would feature a scene with our boys, dying and going into the light together. As they rightfully should! None of this ST:Generations nonsense which sees Kirk firstly separated from Spock for 78 years, and secondly killed in a random fight on behalf of his more up-to-date replacement... *snort*

Nevertheless, I am glad you enjoyed this fic! Thanks for leaving a note.

Loved this story immensely. Humorous and romantic at same time, not to mention some awesome  word pictures of a smitten Spock.

Yay! It was awesome. I loved Jim's reluctance and Spock's persistence and I definitely loved your Qpid. What a great character. Happy Valentine's Day indeed! Thanks for this story.
