In addition to all the other good things about this story, it is a nice account of how they got to be where they are at the beginning of ST II, with their respective jobs at HQ and presumably bonded.

Author's Response:

Thanks Dunyazad. :-)

Really love this story, both the challenge and all the character moments. Hm, I can see Spock being discreet but part of me was thinking about all of those photos since DADT was overturned of young servicemen and women and their significant others openly expressing affection... including a same sex Army wedding at Fort Bragg recently. Oh well, I guess they have nothing to prove!

Author's Response:

Indeed they don't! Thanks for stopping to leave a comment, Hypatia.

I love the ease in their established relationship, the trust and sharing, the way they support one another and the way their passion is always just there, under a thin layer of ash, ready to be kindled in any moment.

Author's Response:

Glad you liked the story, angelocustode. Thanks for leaving a comment!

Beautiful. I loved their tenderness which you captured perfectly, and Jim's nervousness about the kiss. Spock had his back. This was a perfect story about our boys in their later years. Way to go!

Author's Response:

:-) Thanks, ForgottenOne. One of the things I love about TOS is the fact we follow the lives of the crew and our boys over decades. It's bittersweet to be part of their lives as they age. So... komihn...

Lovely poem, and you can always count on Spock to find a solution to a problem.  Well done with the challenge. Enjoyed the private time between them.

Author's Response:

Thanks Dahliaxat!
