I absolutely adored this story from beginning to end.  The first time I read it, I was in a hurry, but today I had the time to take my time reading it and enjoying it all, appreciating all the more, I think with a second read. :)  I just love how you started with the quote from the novelisation.  Genius!

I loved the whole conversation in the restaurant and can imagine Kirk chatting away while Spock remains silent.  I loved when Kirk had doubts, Spock reaffirms: "I do not desire my own command. It is my wish, as always, to remain by your side."  And the conspiracy theorists comment was brilliant! :)

The pon farr conversation was wonderfully done - so vividly described, their voices so right, I could easily visualise it.  Of course Jim would offer to help Spock out! :)  The pon farr itself was wonderfully done - I liked that it wasn't all romantic and idyllic and that it changed both of them.

I loved Jim's confusion over his feelings for the whole episode, and his realisation of what Spock really means to him.  The meeting on the observation deck was skillfully done, again so vividly described.

McCoy's discussion with him was spot on, and again, you got his voice and mannerisms down to a T.  The scene in Jim's quarters was just wonderful as he realised what he was asking Spock.  The continuing belief of the Vulcan sex cycle was brilliant, with Spock gently correcting him. :)  And a lovely ending.

It was interesting reading of Spock being 'cool' rather than 'hot' - I've heard compelling arguments why that would be.  Your characterisation of Jim and Spock here were so spot on for me I had no difficulty picturing them in my mind's eye.  A really wonderful read - one I'll definitely be coming back to.  Thank you for this. <3

I read this in one shot, couldn't stop, Jim is so clueless, and Spock is no better...take the blinders off and admit how you feel...jeez....Ending was superb. I had warm fuzzy feelings....made me smile...thanks for posting this wonderful story...

And I say this every time... but they're such a pair of idiots!  And even when it becomes clear that Kirk loves him back, FOR SOME REASON Spock still wants to dissolve the bond - you can't say more illogical than that!
