You are in luck :) I am planning to start reloading A Painful Discovery in the next few days... I'm changing certain bits quite a lot but I think I've got the beginning pretty much sorted.

This was such a deeply intense scene. It's amazing how you describe it so well, that I truly feel what Spock is feeling. Those endorphins giving him that release. The blood flowing freely...
I liked the part where you mentioned that the knife was cold, inhuman. It is a strange word to use. Inhuman...for he doesn't believe himself to be human, and an object is neither...
Very painful to read, that Spock would have to go that route. But well presented.
