Ideal mixture of action plot and the story of the unfolding of a deep and passionate love. And...Spock is so ... Spock!

Aw! :-D You always have such cool plots! With the great grasp of tthe characters and the hot, intense sex, no wonder you're one of my favorite authors. I love how you created an outside situation to make Jim realize that he could trust Spock, that Spock would always think of him first, instead of them solving the issue of Kirk's anger by merely thinking and talking it out. you've added some action/adventure in the story and that makes it so much more dynamic and richer. Insane crewmen, possible betrayal of trust, dangerous storms, oh yeah :-D

Kirk's anger throughout the first half of the story, always simmering just below the surface, was palpable; actually, his anger and distrust were so well rendered that I wanted to clunk him over the head in indignation for making my beloved Spock suffer so. Spock who, all that time, remained steadfast and utterly devoted and caring in spite of Jim's attitude, providing his captain's only anchor to sanity... It's during one of those moments when Kirk came back from the edge of paranoia after feeling Spock's warmth presence in his mind that I figured out the the-deeper-the-love-the-more-painful-the-betrayal equation that explained the continued anger, just a little before you explained it yourself :). I also loved how Kirk, once he figured it out too, immediately made up his mind and went for what he wanted. Very very true to his character IMO. I don't know when Jim's birthday's supposed to be, but he has to be a fire sign. :) That must have made his initial anger he couldn't fully understand all the more painful, because feeling confused and unresolved is not his natural state at all. Spock's retorts were always spot-on as well - matter-of-fact, occasionally maddening and always completely honest. An excellent episode aftermath story with great emotional intensity, another story to add to my favorites :D. Thanks so much for sharing!
