Where is theresist of this thoroughly entertaining read?

I loved the part at the beginning where Jim was like "and no more asking the other of us when the first one says no, because while it may turn out on your end, it puts me in the dog house." I immediately thought of how people always do that to parents. Also, the dream in the beginning that creepy and didn't make much sense. Why was it there?

Nice chapter. I like the crossover between old Trek and new. So apparently the Romulan commander's interest in Spock was genuine? Or she still genuinely thinks she can turn him into a Romulan double agent? Hmm...

Okay, maybe I overreacted... Spock just called her Doctor. *blood pressure lowering...*
Srsly, I know lots of married men who cook, my father included.

Author's Response: Lol, mine included too. As well as my mother, still. ;)

His wife and her cooking? What is this, the stone age? BTW, were you aware that in TAS, where April was introduced, his wife was his CMO?
Excuse my while I go gag. Mom's Wifey's Meatloaf. Just what the doctor ordered.

"When war is potentially imminent, Captain, I am uncertain we have the luxury of considering the decision 'quick'. I was told that it would not matter how long they waited. The wound of losing Vulcan would still be as deeply felt."
Kirk nodded slowly. "Whoever told you that was a smart person," he murmured, staring off into space.
OMG, topical. This keeps calling to mind 9/11 and the fact that a majority of people still have a freakout about Ground Zero. Truer words and all that.

I am really impressed with this story. I read all of the available chapters today, and I am intrigued. Your plot so far is believable and interesting. I can't see where this story is going, but I mean that in a good way. I can see any number of directions that you could validly go. Any story that has me thinking about what's going to happen next a good while after I've finished reading it is a major winner in my book. Love the development of Uhura. She's a very real person in this story, not just a BAMF or a plot device keeping Spock and Kirk apart. Slipping the candy to Kirk was a small thing that made me see a bit of the sweetness of the TOS Uhura, and suddenly made your Uhura very real to me. I love it when authors can do that! I actually appreciate all of the characterizations so far. Spock and Kirk are true to character, but also believably changed/matured as they should be a year into the mission. Also, do I see a McCoy/SpockPrime subplot brewing? I can't really tell yet, but personally I hope so.;-) Keep the chapters coming!

Like the way this story starts, and the humanity of the characters (esp. Uhura and her interaction with the crew). Read The Edge, and really enjoyed it (hope it will be finished one day :-) ), and this new tale promises to be as good. Keep writing :-)

Author's Response: It will be, I promise, lol. I know my ending, I just have to write it.
