I can't believe that in 2 years this superb story has had no reviews. Dislike of threesomes? That's not what this story (and this series) is about. It's about the terrible pain of being an outsider, and of finally being invited in from the cold. "fighting ... the ultimate negation of community." What a profound insight - and one we would all do well to remember. Dreams of rejection; hope for community. And the words are spare and beautiful. And I've read the whole series, so I know this fragile community won't survive Spock's hybrid genes.
A wonderful read - with tears.
Thank you for your kind words and your insights!
It feel especially good to get reviews after some time has passed.
There is a strong element of c'thia at work here, the realisation that not even miracles are eternal. The whole of Star Trek is set against the immense spaces, the deep time, and the mindless violence of the universe, so it feels inevitable to me that individual lives are at some point shattered.
