I got lost in the time lines in this. I like being lost, so I loved reading this story, even if I had to scan lazily back and forth for a while to follow it.
And my father handed me a handful of Theodore Sturgeon books when I was ten, and said, 'Read this. A mind like yours should read stuff like this.'
To this day I am not really sure what he meant. But I haved always loved Sturgeon.

Damn it, now I have to go read Watchmen. And Sturgeon... I haven't read him since I was about nine....
BTW, did I say this story was amazing?
Watchmen is well worth it. I was reading, or trying to read, AC Clarke, Bradbury, Ellison, eventually Heinlein too at a tender age. Never did get around to Starship Troopers, though. Once I discovered alt.slack and discovered that truth was weirder than fiction.... Found Sturgeon later, would have loved him as a kid, though he did write stuff that's more adult oriented, like More Than Human.

Oh man, there should be moar reviews than mine! This is epic, I love the riff offWatchmen, which is a favourite of mine anyway. Bravo!! Bloody well done!!!
Greywolf, I'm jus' sayin'...
Happy to see you here, Wolfie.
I think the structure threw some people off. Two years later, reading my own work, not really struggling to follow it at all. You know, with dates and shit. Yeah, totally ripped off Moore's shtick.
