He’d heard the name Spock mentioned once or twice (or enough times that Jim had started to wonder why they didn‘t just replace the Zefram Cochrane statue out in front of the Academy grounds with a Spock one). Of course he had. Who hadn’t?
"All children develop differently, at different rates," McCoy told him, sighing. "I feel like we’ve had this discussion before. Numerous times. And the little hobgoblin has always proven me right. He always figures it out eventually, right?"

An A/U novel that started out Gen and was recently reworked to be K/S. Survivors of the Enterpruse crew are forced to create a new life on a culturally primitive planet. The story follows the trials and tribulations, with a few moments of happiness, of Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Warning: this story contains death of character. It's incredibly melodramatic, as would be expected having been birthed during my teen years. But it has always haunted me over time and now it's time to share it!

Wherein Spock learns the subtle nuances of gift-giving, and Kirk has fun wrapping up his Christmas present. And then they have sex. Kinky sex. This is a nominal sequel to Kings and Pawns of Men (though it can basically act as a stand-alone), and was also written for the K/S Advent Calendar 2010.
