It is the Captains birthday and he is anticipating a number of pleasures starting with a long awaited lie in with his lover, sadly it seems as if nothing is going to go right, his command team are behaving strangely, there are Starfleet initiatives, unexpected passengers, and technical failures, all maner of trying events seem set to make this the birthday from hell. Somewhere at the bottom of it all there is a well meaning Vulcan, but will things turn out right....
