Kirk and Spock are in a relationship, but things aren't as easy as that. They are tentatively exploring their sexuality, while Spock is still struggling very much with the aftermath of his rape and Kirk just can't seem to open himself up towards his Vulcan companion.

The situation comes to a head, when Kirk is abducted by Romulans and drawn into their Empire.

When the Federation does not take actions to rescue him and even assigns a new Captain to the Enterprise, Spock has to make one of the hardest decisions of his life...

What is one rogue Vulcan against a whole Empire? Can the crew of the Enterprise help their two commanding Officers? And to what extremes can love force you, until you simply break under the strain?
