Was Reminded of 'Search for Spock' Earlier... by Live Long and Prosper [Responses - 0] [Report This]
Summary: I haven't watched the movies for quite some time - well, before I finally noticed the relationship between Jim and Spock, at least - but I was playing a Star Trek game with my mother (another huge fan) to cheer her up and a plot tribble plonked itself down in my drink.
During 'Search for Spock' when McCoy is in possession of Spock's katra, he appears to be losing his mind and at times sounds like Spock or uses actions he would have used - if I'm remembering the film properly, there is a scene where he appears to try and use a Vulcan nerve pinch on someone and is totally confused when it doesn't work.
So here was my idea:
Jim and Spock have already been bonded - whether it was on Vulcan and is a 'full' bond or not is your choice - when they are beamed down to a new planet. An incident occurs and Jim is left there, presumed dead. Spock feels his side of the bond 'close' back aboard the ship and believes him to be dead, also.
After the funeral service aboard the ship and as they are under way again, Spock appears to have a 'mental breakdown', for lack of a better explanation. I imagined him looking absolutely fine and acting the same as he always does but making little mistakes like sitting in Kirk's chair and performing his duties. It doesn't really matter to anyone at first - with Kirk gone, Spock is the new captain and it's expected of him. When he starts sitting in the same position/shifting around in the chair like Kirk and using his handwriting, the crew notice but still aren't too bothered by it, even if it does start them worrying. They think that it is Spock's way of dealing with the situation and grieving for him and, although McCoy orders him put on a lighter duty roster, he isn't too concerned either. Then it becomes more serious.
I won't dictate exactly what the character should and shouldn't do but I would like a few things included, if possible: trying to enter Jim's room with his old captain's security code, which has already been changed; addressing McCoy as Bones and eating meat or fatty foods that Jim enjoyed and makes Spock himself physically ill. When the situation reaches its peak, Spock is re-enacting whole memories of Jim's past interactions with himself and others, acting as if it is happening right then and there and he is actually being answered, even including things he couldn't possibly know unless he had been there. Perhaps he could even re-enact emotional, private scenes in front of people: 'pillow-talk', the way his relationship with Kirk began, etc.
They finally realise that Jim is still alive and was being tortured by the inhabitants of the planet for Starfleet information (in league with the Klingons/Romulans?) and was using his memories of Spock and the others to protect those secrets and his link with Spock from the interrogators. In my mental version of it, McCoy took him to Vulcan and Sarek, in a very Vulcan-esque emotional display, melded with him in order to discover a way to save him but it's not necessary if anyone has another idea. Even so, I would like Sarek and Amanda given a little mention, hopefully in the memories if you can get it to work.
I also wouldn't mind this idea being reversed with Jim in Spock's place and vice versa. If anyone wants to try and fit this into the Abrams universe, please feel free; I love the idea of Spock Prime being involved and being the one to 'save' them.

Spock's a touch telepath, right? Well, it's not just uncomfortable for Spock to have extended physical/psychic contact with undisciplined minds, it's actually detrimental to his health.

It's okay, though, there's a training regimen for that!
Although, it might be a little awkward to have his boyfriend's father (who kind of really hates Kirk's guts, wants his son to marry the uptight bitch over yonder, and keeps sabotaging their relationship) teach him how to order his mind and calm his thoughts so he can screw Spock silly into the nearest flat surface.
Especially when there are so many mindmelds involved…

So since the recent surge in Vampire/Werewolf genre, it's possible to do a Star Trek twist.
Jim is a Werewolf by blood. It's been in his bloodline because his father was one as well. Could be that there is a planet somewhere with such a race and his father was "turned" and now Jim caries the bloodline just doesn't know it yet. So since the bloodline is fainter in Jim, it doesn't kick in until after he becomes Captain and they are off in their 5 year mission. So of course Jim's bloodline rears its ugly head. Jim is freaked out and Bones ends up looking into matters and figures it out for Jim.
Kind of like how the Thy'la bond has been used, now with the awakening of Jim's bloodline Jim has an "Imprint" bond. Wolves if anyone is not a aware, mate for life. So Jim doesn't have a choice in who he imprints on, just kind of happens after your awakening. So the first time Jim sees Spock after the awakening he imprints on Spock.
I want this fic to be angst in the beginning because Spock is in a relationship with Uhara. Jim is pinning away in misery, etc. However, Spock and Uhara are having relationship problems; Jim is just not aware of them. But, it does play out to Jim pursuing Spock after Spock and Uhara break up.
I want this to have a happy ending and feel free to play around with the idea. This is something that just popped into my head.
Bonus: If after the imprinting, everything month after Jim goes through his "transformation ordeal" he's pretty much in "heat" and needs to mate. So of course there's a couple days worth of sexathon to satisfy the mating urges.
Mega Bonus: If Vulcan's Knot during their mating and since Jim's awakening he knots as well during mating. So they of course must take turns in said "Sexathon" previously.

(ST:XI) Joanna is a plot device so rarely used. She's absolutely adorable, but so rarely shows up in a story. I, for one, would love to see a story where she is the catalyst in Kirk and Spock's relationship. (Perhaps she even aids Daddy in finding a lady friend (Sorry, Bones is very straight in my mind. Can be a creative OC or existing character.).) My major requirement is that there be a scene in which Jo toddles up to Spock one night and wants to know why he says he can't go home anymore. Somewhere in this scene, Joanna must give Spock a big hug and declare herself his friend because nobody should have to be alone.
Major bonus points and cuddles if this is a long story and Jo ends up staying on the Enterprise.
Super-Mega-Double-Bonus if there's a focus on how Spock and Jim complete each other and Jo knows all along that Spock is Jim's Prince Charming. I figure she's probably in the princess stage of life. And Jim is totally the damsel in distress.

I don't know if I've seen this before, but I may be wrong. During Amok Time, McCoy timely administers his shot to Kirk, causing him to appear dead. During the attempted strangulation, however, Spock injures Kirk's spinal cord, crippling him. How you take it from there is up to you and whether he recovers is your choice, but Kirk needs to spend time in that weird "wheelchair" contraption that Pike was in in the original series.

Rewatching "Amok Time" and "Journey to Babel" for like 50th time. I've had this idea stuck in my head for awhile.
Sometime after the end of "Amok Time" T'Pau informs Sarek and Amanda that it is unnecessary for them to find someone for Spock because even though T'pring rejected him and he left, Spock has a bondmate.(*cough*Kirk*cough* How could she not know that Kirk faked his death! She has amazing Vulcan powers that make Kirk/Spock happen. That and she saw them roll around in the sand together...mmmm...)
Anyways, During "Journey to Babel" Amanda (and Sarek) try to figure out who Spock's bondmate is.
Bonus- The one person she/they don't suspect is Kirk.
Another Bonus- Kirk tries to drop some hints.

I think the clearest moment we realize that Kirk loves Spock is in the Squire of Gothos, At the duel, Kirk wants himself and Trelane to shoot at the same time. Trelane wants to shoot first. In order to get the first shot Trelane immediately aims at Spock (notice there are several other crew members there to point at). Kirk doesn’t even hesitate in his decision to let Trelane indeed fire first when Spock is threatened. What are Spock and Kirk thinking? Does Spock realize in that moment Kirk loves him? Does Kirk suddenly realize he loves Spock? What was the conversation about when they returned to the ship? As always Spock is probably bothered by the fact that Kirk puts himself in harm’s way to save him. It is not logical for a ship’s captain to die before first officer. What do you think?

I was listening to the Wicked Soundtrack and got caught on the song titled "What is this feeling?" Elphaba (aka the future Wicked Witch of the West) doesn't like Galinda (The Good Witch) because she's blonde, and Galinda doesn't like Elphaba because she's "Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and all together impossible to describe" (aka. green). I don't want to say more just in case there is someone who still hasn't seen it and wants to.
Anyway, the challenge is to have a pre-slash (maybe leading up to full slash) story following the lines of Wicked with Spock playing the part of Elphaba and Jim playing the part of Galinda. It only really works if they both come to Starfleet academy at the same time, but otherwise free-style it. Include whomever you like, but I do like happy endings.

Somehow Kirk is turned into a wild breed of feline (ex. Tiger, leopard, lynx, smilodon, lematya or alien species). The crew is cautiously fearful of their captains new form, so Spock takes over as feline!Kirk's caretaker because he has experience with large dangerous animals, ie his childhood pet I'Chaya. So feline!Kirk shares meals with Spock, follows him everywhere, sleeps in his quarters and maybe on the bed as well and falls "in love" with his Vulcan caregiver.
