Summary:

When Jim and Spock got together, everyone thought Jim wasn't being serious and would hurt Spock. So he got talked by almost everyone he knew: Uhura, Pike, even McCoy.

Jim, they said, don't hurt Spock. You know yourself, right?

Only the older Spock, far far away on the new vulcan, smiled to Jim and wished him happy.

Jim knew in another universe he and Jim were a very happy couple. So were him and his Spock, he thought. Just they were both much younger. They haven't learned to compromise, to give up a little of themselves for love. Though they would argue, would fight, would start the childish cold war, Jim felt he couldn't be happier in his whole life.  This was the first time in his life he felt loved and he wouldn't exchange it with anything. He started to learn how to love one's beloved, by changing,  by giving, by being the one always willing to compromise more.

Several months later, a mission went terribly wrong. Due to the difficult situation and part to Jim's impulsiveness Spock always disagreed, a mission rescuing captives kidnapped by a pirate ship failed. Several vulcans died. The ship escaped. Jim blamed himself.  Spock blamed himself and Jim. He couldn't get over this and started to think he and Jim didn't belong to the same path. They followed totally different rules. Mightbe he made the wrong decision to end the relationship with Uhura. Mightbe he let his undeniable physical attraction to Jim cloud his logic after all.

Spock decided to break up with Jim. Jim begged him, but no use. He understood the failure of mission was one of the reasons Spock couldn't accept him, but the fact that Spock never stopped weighing his decision between Uhura and Jim just hurt him deeply.  (But Spock didn't go back with Uhura. He knew he had no feelings for her any more. )

The Enterprise sent the vulcans' bodies back to the new colony.  Jim felt deeply ashamed and wept before Selek. Selek regretted Spock's decision and said, in this universe, maybe it's too early for the two of you to meet. You both are too young and need more time.

The words made Jim's inside break. And Spock went all official and detached with him. He felt he was slowly dying by every day.  Maybe he couldn't belong to anyone, maybe it's his destiny to be alone.  And he sure learned his humility.

One year later,  the five year mission ended with Enterprise back to earth. Jim never stopped trying to track the escaped pirate ship after the tragedy. He finally got the faint clue where the ship might be and decided to go hunt the ship. He knew Spock was going to new Vulcan and he waited outside of his house to say farewell to him.

After Jim was gone, Spock felt anxious by no reasons and knew there's something going on with Jim. He couldn't deny himself he never stopped caring and loving Jim.

He accidentally found Jim's bold plan. He refused to go back home with his father and went after Jim.

Jim had intended to check out the hideout of the ship and confirm first, then go call the authority. But he got caught by the pirates and was badly beaten.  He just thought himself really stupid and might never see the sun, the earth and Spock again, when Spock suddenly appeared and saved him. The pirates were all put under the force of the authority.

They went back home. Jim wouldn't let go Spock's hands in his unconciousness. When he woke up, he supprised to find Spock still at his bedside.

In the following days, they talked,  they forgave each other, they laughted at their silliness and cried over their loss. They made love, and expected the new five-year mission together.

*Must:  sexual scenes(yes, plural!) and Bottom Jim

*Bonus: 1. the longer, the better!

 2. Angst. It's legal to break hearts here.

 3. Please don't make Spock cruel, because he's not. He has his reasons and they are both young.

I really wanna see in the new universe with much younger characters, there might be a possiblity that they are being foolish, and they just need more time and going through much more to have love. But they're thy'la, which is the truth that can't be changed in any universe.

Summary:

I've been watching the TOS episode The Gamesters of Triskelion and I was wondering what it would be like if Kirk had lost the wager and his crew was enslaved as thralls. Kirk is severely wounded, but his provider spares his life because he likes the captain's spirit and wants to turn him out to stud.

All of the providers are impressed with McCoy's skills at healing when he saves Kirk from almost certain death and they see the implication of getting the most out of their property. Like Galt, they make him an impartial non-combatant.

I would prefer a slash story with Kirk and Spock in an established relationship before the abduction to Triskelion. I'm not picky about the universe, it could be TOS or reboot.

  • How does a pacifistic Vulcan survive not only slavery, but being forced to kill for another beings entertainment?
  • How does a bonded Vulcan handle being kept away from his mate and knowing that said mate is being forced into sexual situations with females for the purpose of breeding?
  • How would the crew handle their enforced slavery at the instigation of their beloved captain?
  • How would a captain who is so conscientious over the safety of his crew survive knowing that their lives and their freedom are forfeit because of him?

That's all I can think of, so I'll leave the rest to whoever else likes what-ifs as much as I do.

Summary:

Okay, this is new twist on an old prompt (the original one is not mine) that had once been circulating the K/S sites for a while. The original prompt was that Kirk is assaulted or gets secret Starfleet orders to seduce someone to get valuable information, the entire crew, including Spock, hate Jim because they think he's a cheating bastard.

I want a different take on it.

Here's my challenge.

Some crew member discovers Jim in a "compromising position", and the rumors start flying around the Enterprise that Jim cheated on Spock. The entire crew give their Captain the cold shoulder, and some try to convince Spock to dump his cheating lover. Spock is the only one who refuses to believe that Jim could ever choose to be unfaithful to him, and the Vulcan reasons that it must be a misunderstanding.

When Spock finally confronts his lover for an explanation, Jim 'confesses' that he was actually raped/or following secret Starfleet orders (author's choice), but that he was too ashamed/under orders to keep quiet/whatever to tell Spock the truth until that moment. Jim says that in order for Spock to be rid of any doubts about his integrity, Spock should mind meld with him to see the truth. Spock declines the mind meld, saying that he trusts Jim, and the fact that he even suggested it tells him that Jim's words are true.

Happy ending, right? WRONG!

Turns out Jim really was cheating on Spock the entire time. The whole story about Kirk following secret Starfleet orders or being raped, was just concocted by a panicked Jim on the spot to cover his tracks after getting caught. And Jim, being a gambling man, offered to mind meld with Spock because he figured that the fact that he offered would be enough to convince Spock that Jim was innocent.

Somehow Spock discovers the truth behind Jim's lies. Maybe he walks in on Jim in the middle of round 2 or confessing the truth to someone. Maybe an Admiral tells Spock that Starfleet gave no such orders. Who knows? Feel free to be creative.

When Spock finds out the truth, how will he react? Especially, since he had trusted Jim so completely as to give him the benefit of a doubt, even when the rest of the crew turned against the Captain. Will Jim be repentant for betraying his lover and try to convince Spock he's changed? Will Spock ever forgive him?

Whether this ultimately ends up with a happy ending or a sad ending is up to the author.

I'm totally cool with this taking place in the Abrams verse, though I'll be super impressed if you manage to pull it off and make it believabe in the TOS-verse!

Happy writing!

Summary:

Jim and Spock are newly bonded with the T’yh’la bond – the strongest and most unique of them, but this time the bond instead of helping, being an anchor, guiding light etc, is actually the main source of the problem for the two.

During the away mission the away team is attacked by separatists and Spock is injured. Kirk must leave him behind in order to secure the ship, save the crew etc, and Spock himself urges him to leave (the needs of the many…). With a heavy heart Jim leaves. Spock is captured and viciously tortured and abused. During that time the bond calls to Jim but it cannot reach its other end. After a week or so Spock is saved and he is on his way to recovery, remorseful Kirk doting on him and offering him every comfort. But there is a certain uneasiness between them. It starts slow – Spock not confiding in Jim about his problems, not wanting to have sex, later not even wanting to sleep in the same bed. It’s getting worse – Spock cannot meditate, cannot rest, eat, concentrate – he succumbs to some unknown illness. In the end it turns out the bond is responsible for everything. The T’yh’la bond has actually a certain doze of consciousness and when Kirk abandoned Spock and did not rescue him when the Vulcan suffered, it “decided” that Jim betrayed the bond and should not be allowed to be near Spock again. So it started to influence Spock’s mind in order to permanently separate him for Kirk. The thing is, that the bond’s actions are killing the Vulcan in the process and a solution must be found soon in order to prevent it.

Bonus points:

The bond despite being part of Spock is not affected by his Vulcan (logic) and human (trust, faith) sides, so despite the fact that Spock knew that Jim had to leave and he was going to come back for him, the bond saw it as abandoning a chosen mate.

Spock Prime has no idea what is happening and cannot help. He tries to prepare Jim for the possibility that young Spock may die and I will love you forever if Jim actually has a real breakdown in his arms :)

McCoy being the one to sort out that it’s the bond thing and somehow participating in curing Spock

Summary: A long long time ago I remember the TOS K/S fandom having a Grapefruit challenge.. I think Shatner had done some kind of seductive recording.... Basically - have nu!Kirk seduce (quasi) inanimate objects... And thereby seduce the bystanders/evesdroppers. Could be a oneshot, could be a scene incorporated into your current/other fic, could be a 5 and 1 - 5 times Kirk seduced an inanimate object and one time with Spock. Spock should be aware of/present during all events (and jealous). I'm picturing Kirk seducing his breakfast to the horror/lust of Bones and others (and Bones decides to let him eat whatever he wants); maybe Kirk seduces (an alien?) technology into doing what he wants it to do; a bathleth while at a diplomatic conference while surrounded by (now lust-striken) Klingons; the Teachings of Surak text while at New Vulcan surrounded by Vulcans.... Including Sarek; the.. Camera... Or something, while on-air to the entire Federation; a torture device or slug or something while being held by Cardassians; A plant... That had the enterprise etc under it's influence... Maybe the plant falls under Kirk's influence and releases the crew or maybe the crew are just drawn to Kirk's charisma and forget the plant's effects; Kirk does something and henceforth a previously hostile world worships kirk as god; kirk plays an instrument/sings/poetry/something and seduces Apollo; kirk does something totally nonsexual and seduces/impresses the Q; kirk sends out a subspace message to someone and his voice attracts the attention of a huge space energy entity which follows the Enterprise for a while and then has a baby while listening to his voice/using his energy; kirk seduces the borg/queen or time travelling Seven of Nine (ooooh het sex!) - I've never seen that pairing! other ideas... That bomb thing from TOS that was Kirk and Spock's 'kid'. Tribbles! Kirk has Pike as an audience during one of his... Events. Something involving one of the other aliens from TOS. **it is highly recommended that you read/listen to the original Grapefruit challenge responses, otherwise you won't really understand - if anyone has links to them, please comment!!! I think some can be found by google or at the Golden O's or on thyla.com.

Summary:

Captain Kirk has been made into a woman, a toddler, a cat, a Vulcan, and various other creatures and critters in his many adventures on KSarchive. Now, it's time for something a bit more...energetic.

Note: Romantic relationship not pre-established.

Abram-verse preferred, TOS acceptable.

CHALLENGE: James "Tomcat" Kirk has been turned into (Powers That Be, help us all) a dog. How this happens is up to you (alien technology, some weird ancient other-worldly voodoo, etc.), but it must be Spock that is forced to keep an eye out for the furry captain of the USS Enterprise. The crew can help, but they also need to try to hide his condition from the Admiralty to keep Jim from losing his Captaincy before they can reverse the change.

BONUS IF: You pick an energetic breed. Border Collies, Australian Sheepdogs, and other herding breeds would be good choices. All intelligent, most of them loving and loyal, and all of them are energetic. And mostly fluffy~!

BONUS IF: Kirk, at some point, gets too lonely at night locked in his quarters and scratches and whines at the joint-bathroom door until Spock reacts. How he does so (whether it is berating the dog or allowing him into his own room, or any other variation) is up to you.

LARGE BONUS IF: He still hops up into his chair on the bridge. C'mon, picture it - it's just adorable!

MEGA BONUS IF: He is protective of Spock in a threatening situation.

MEGA BONUS IF: Spock has no prior knowledge on how to care for a Terran canine. Kirk is thinking like a dog, not a person, and sehlats are much more intelligent than dogs.

MEGA BONUS IF: After being changed back, Jim's protectiveness of Spock and jealousy for his attention is still very obvious.

You can make this fluff and leave it at that, or continue this as a longer story that leads into a building relationship beteeen Jim and Spock. I prefer the latter, but fluff is good too. Good luck~!

OK - MAJOR UPDATES ON THIS ONE:

There are some (many) seriously good authors on this site.  I propose writing a sci-fi non-slash anthology between us all.  To be published mainstream, not Star Trek, just sci-fi short stories.  I can organise publishing it.  Stories to be 5,000 to 10,000 words long (flexible of course).  The title of the anthology iis to be 'Tales from the Perseus Arm.'

Any takers?  Any thoughts?  Come on, people, you are really really good.

Update (27/3/2012) We have two takers to date, any more?  I am after about twenty authors to contribute, so don't be shy!  You can private message me with any questions or suggestions.

Update 2 Feb 2013 - Authors who are "In" now include Eimeo, Shelby Spencer, Dahlia Xat, Fugitive, Pamdizzle.

Deadline for accepting the challenge has been set at 15/2/13.  After that, first drafts of stories are due by 31/03/13.

Any plot suggestions (e.g. challenges for authors to write to) would be welcome, too, even if you don't want to write it yourself.

Most of the time, when Kirk is written as a girl, the author changes the character completly. It's understandable. Our culture has ingrained a lot of false ideas about gender into our heads. But for once, I would like to see a girl!kirk who is everything her male counterpart is and more! Kirk is committed to his/her work, strong willed, cool under pressure, a loyal friend and the best strategist in star fleet. He/She has his/her flaws, too. He's/She's a big flirt and also proud. Some might even say arrogant. But she's/he's also reasonable and never lets her/his pride endanger the things he/she loves most... his/her ship and his/her crew.

Please! Someone write a decent female Captain Kirk story! They are too few and far between.

The fact that they are so comfortable with each other kind of freaks people out.

Bonus points for very confused vulans.

Summary:

I was watching A Few Good Men last night, and the second I saw Tom Cruise waltz into Demi Moore's office munching on an apple and being an all around cocky shit, I knew I had to post this challenge, which calls for a reboot of the movie starring our favorite ST:XI characters.

I'm envisioning Kirk as Lt. Kaffee, Bones as Lt. Weinberg, and Spock as Lt. Crd. Galloway. (I'm fine with Spock being human, but no gender bending of any kind, please.) You can have the rest of the cast fill whichever roles you like. (I picture Sulu and Chekov as Dawson and Downey, but that's just a suggestion)

Can be a modern AU or a Starfleet "JAG" AU.

Don't feel as if you have to strictly adhere to the plot (or sub-plots) of the movie. (If I wanted to read the transcript of the movie with the character's names changed to ST characters, I could do it myself with a search and replace.) I very much want everyone to be in character despite their radically different careers.

The only other requirement is some yummy K/S, but if you want to keep it to sparks-flying pre-slash, that’s fine by me.

Bonus:

  • Areel Shaw for the prosecution
  • Some cute Spock & Chekov interaction (nothing slashy-- just big brother/mentor/two geeky peas in a pod stuff)

Summary:

Cannedebonbon drew a beautiful picture of Spock in a geisha costume http://cannedebonbon.livejournal.com/112275.html. We both agree that this would make a wonderful story. Historically, men were the original geisha's and I would like to see a fic where Spock, was perhaps stolen as a child from his prominent family and sold to a geisha house in another province. James Kirk is captain of the Enterprise, a western ship on an exploratory mission to open trade with Japan.

What I'd like:

  • Bottom Spock, please, with lots of angst and some h/c sprinkled in.
  • Geisha's are entertainers, not whores. I would like to see Jim misunderstand the roll of a geisha and Spock sets him straight.
  • Sarek is the minister/lord chosen to facilitate the trade agreement and hires Spock (unknowing that he's the son that was kidnapped from him years ago) the most prominent geisha in the land.
  • Spock's parentage is discovered and in order to save his families honor, he leaves with his lover (Kirk) to go back to the west. With homosexuality bringing a death sentence in Europe, he continues to dress and act geisha. None of the crew (except for McCoy) know that he's a male.

*Bonus for Sybok (Sarek's older son from a previous marriage) being behind the kidnapping plot to ensure his place as heir and in revenge for Sarek setting aside his mother in favor of Amanda, a western woman that was the sole survivor of a shipwreck.

*Bonus for Kirk trying to seduce his geisha and winds up falling in love. **Double bonus for the feeling being mutual.

*Bonus for it to be illegal for Spock to handle weapons, but surprising his aggressors/assassins with martial arts (neck pinch?)

*Bonus for McCoy finding out Spock is male from having to give him medical aid. How surprised his is, is up to you.

*Bonus for a touching and emotional scene between father and son at their reunion and again at their parting.

That's what I'm hoping for, but I'll be just as happy with any kind of Geisha Spock fic. I know writing is hard work, but making it historical is even harder, so however this comes out, the author will have earned a lifetime of virtual hugs from me. :)

Please check out Cannedebonbon's drawing for inspiration.

Summary: Okay here's my challenge. I prefer it in Abrams universe, however Amanda must survive. After the events of the battle with Nero, Spock and Jim are drawn to each other. (Nyota and Spock had an amiable breakup, Jim's not a homewrecker.) Jim and Spock begin a relationship and it comes to the point where Spock needs Sarek's blessing to bring Jim into the clan. Sarek refuses demanding that Spock bond with a female and help rebuild the population of the Vulcan race. Spock refuses and Sarek threatens to have him brought before the High Council and have Spock declared without world or clan for refusing his responsibilities to clan and world. Spock does not care and returns to Enterprise. Enter T'Pau, Spock's grammie. She as leader of the council summon's Jim and Spock to the council, she verifies their T'hy'la bond. Sarek is stunned, T'Pau admonishes him, making him repeat the story she taught him at age 4 about Surak and his T'hy'la, a story that teaches children about the sacred bond that cannot be forced, that cannot be changed, and cannot be denied. T'Pau states that logic demands that one whom has caused hurt as Sarek has must be made to endure at least a measure of the same hurt. She cites the 20 years of silence between Sarek and his son, as well as the refusal to acknowledge the T'hy'la bond with Jim. She sentences him to a year in Coventry, during which no one family included may acknowledge Sarek's existence, no communication, no comfort, no touch. Nothing. The punishment is to take place after Jim and Spock's formal bonding ceremony on New Vulcan. T'Pau then tells Spock that she has made arrangements with Star Fleet and he will take Sarek's place for 1 year as clan leader, with Jim at his side. Spock tries to refuse citing that he is not a true vulcan. T'Pau tears this arguement down. ***bonus points T'Pau refutes this and states just this once that she is proud of her grandson. The bonding happens and Sarek relinquishes his place. He then leaves on a years pilgrimage into the desert. Unknown to Sarek or Spock or Amanda Jim manages to hide a small transponder in Sarek's pack. Using the transponder Jim regularly beams in to make certain that Sarek is in good health, during coventry if he were to be hurt or in trouble no one would respond to a may day. Shortly before the end of the year Jim beams in to find Sarek severly wounded from a wild animal attack. Jim beams him back to the estate and using his first aid training tries to stabalize Sarek, Spock finds them and steps in to help. Sarek vows to be a worthy father to such a fine pair of sons. Together he and Amanda see them off when Enterprise returns to collect its Captain and First Officer. Sarek then pulls Jim to the side he apologizes, asking Jim to help his son, “I tried to make him something he is not, much to my shame. He is a child of two worlds, my failure caused him to feel unwelcome on this one, it was fitting that he found his life mate from his other home world.” Sarek tells Jim that he is proud to have him as his son. Sarek holds him hand up with spread fingers, offering the traditional touch allowed between close family members. Jim touchs his fingertips to Sarek’s. Sarek’s thoughts cross the touch and he “hears”, “Son of my heart, know that I have come to love you, and am always here if you ever have need of me.” Jim feels a tear slip down his cheek Sarek envelops him in a fatherly hug, a spectacle that one year ago Sarek would have never indulged in, however knowing that it is what Jim truly needs, a father’s arms around him, to comfort and provide a safe haven if only for a moment. Sarek whispers in his ear, “I love thee my son, more than you will ever know.” As he says this he is looking directly into Spock’s eyes. Spock knows that the message is to both Jim and himself. Jim and Spock then leave and carry on with their lives. ****Super Bonus Points**** Amanda is like a mama sehlet, she's ready to take on the council and her errant husband in defense of her son, and the son of her heart. I had this inspiration reading several fics by CMM, who is my hero. I'd write it but I'm afraid I'd mangle it to pieces...

Summary: CASTING CALL:

Writers, mannipers and artists! Myself and a few friends, as many of you know, recently came together to do what I've been sort of referring to as a 'directed' or 'structured' Round Robin as an effort for a mutual friend and talented author ‘T'Lara’.

This particular project was for a mash up between West Side Story and TOS K/S. Our last contributor has just finished the final chapter and the general consensus is that we'd like to do more projects like this one in very much the same style--mashing K/S, be it TOS or NU, with various movies, plays, etc.

Most of our decisions are decided by taking a poll—for instance, we are about to start polling on which movie we want to mash up next. After that, we may poll on what characters will fill which roles in the movie (Kirk and Spock will always, of course, play the primary roles). Then, unless it’s to fill a particular challenge or prompt, like WSS was, we will also take a poll on which Universe—TOS/AOS/MU/AU. It’s not random the way that a normal Round Robin is random—where you post it up and anyone can add to it.

Rather, we divide up parts of the movie/play/etc. to be used and divvy out each part in a number equal to how ever many writers we have signed up for the project. (9 writers, 9 chapters) Each writer will need to craft their chapter based mostly upon two things: 1) what the author before them writes and 2) what is outlined in the part they signed up for. You then submit it for review and proofing, and then it gets posted, before anyone aside from the event supervisor (I just made that up) involved in the project sees it. So it’s really a surprise for just about everyone and a fun exercise if you’re up for a challenge.

As for mannips and art, if you feel motivated by a particular theme decided upon by the group, you can submit art and mannips to be posted alongside whichever part of the Round Robin you created it for. There’s really no huge guideline, so long as it is relevant to both K/S and the movie/play/etc the story is centered around and is created in a timely manner so that it's ready to post by the time the chapter it belongs to is ready. :)

Our poll for the next mash up so far is as follows:
Jurassic Park
When Harry Met Sally
The Rocky Horror Picture Show

If you are interested in learning more about how this works, please contact me via PM either using the contact form on the archive or by following my link to my facebook. Please be advised that in order to participate you WILL need to have a facebook profile and to add me as a friend so that I can add you our Round Robin group where all activities and interactions for various projects take place. I hope to hear from you! Believe me when I say that the experience is both rewarding and fun.

Summary: Jim lives through Tarsus because some energy form attaches itself to him. It was in a sort of stasis for a long time but attached/psychially bonded to Jim and drawing off his life force, it is 'alive' again. It sends Jim information, images, visions, views into others minds, etc. For example, it shows Jim where and how to get food, how to avoid capture, people's true thoughts and deceptions and past actions, etc - wherever your imagination takes you. The draw back is Jim's fear and their mutual lack of understanding. They have to learn how to communicate even though they're psychically bonded and the energy see Jim's thought's, they are two radically different life forms and have different ideas and views. This may lead to Jim geting captured, etc. As Jim grows, he dreams and 'sees' amazing things... Other worlds, beings, things he doesn't understand, and he can see energy - earth energy, divas, etc. He records his experiences. When the Enterprise is in it's first few months in space, the symbiote notifies Jim that his son is very near death and that Jim can save him if the symbiote transfers his life energy. As usual, Jim is in pain and almost dies. Bonus points if this happens on the bridge during an attack. What does Jim do? How does Spock react? In exchange for the symbiote having risked it's life, Jim must help it 'procreate'. Maybe it wants to use Spock's energy and have it's 'clone' float off into space. Maybe the new symbiote will need to join with Jim's kid or Spock?? Your choice how it plays out. Double bonus points if Jim didn't know about his kid (super bonus points if it's a girl and boy twins blonde and blue eyed looking like Jim!) and maybe the mother's neglectful and it reminds Jim of his own childhood and he brings the kids aboard the Enterprise. I see the kids as being about a year old. Author should explore Spock reactions, and what is this energy? A ghost of a long dead alien? A normal form of an unknown alien? The last of it's kind? How does it impact Kirk's command and success? Will it leave him when he and Spock bond? Will it create a Spock/Jim baby because it wants to be helpful and make more vulcans? What if Jim's captured by aliens? How can the symbiote help? Sacrifice itself? ... Actually what does Jim call the symbiote? Can the symbiote help the vulcan people? Can it bring Prime!Kirk through a worm hole? Must have hurt!Jim, bottom!Spock, virgin!Spock, possessive/protective!Spock and some super!Jim. No Uhura/Spock past or present.

Summary: I haven't seen Into Darkness so feel free to base this on 2009 or to include ST:ID or go AU. ---- Prompt: Kirk saw a lot of TOS from the the mind meld with Spock. Kirk got Kirk's POV b/c the originals had melded alot and info was subconsciously shared. Kirk is aware they are th'y'la but doesn't want t get involved as he was aware of all the longing/heartbreak TOS!Kirk went through, and the relationship never really got off the ground. There was always something T'Pring, Vulcan mentality, Leila, snow woman, sky woman, romulan woman, Pike, tribbles, logic, being left for Gol, Arrogant Presumption, Nexus, Picard, dying alone.... Although Nu!Kirk is convinced he'll die alone he doesn't want to long/Pine for someone his whole life. So Spock, who has watched the awesomeness of Kirk, and fallen for him, must convince him to become involved with him. Should involve the normal cliched abandoned!Kirk, sad childhood, fear of being left behind or alone. Bonus: Bonus.. In any form Also, no Uhura.

Summary:

Why yes, before you ask, I'm watching the episode A Taste Of Armageddon while issuing this challenge. While I'm watching this episode, I had a thought: What if war had really started?

So, the challenge:

While on a planet, war breaks out. Could be against guerrilla forces on the planet fighting for a revolution or another planet could have infiltrated the populace and decided to strike during treaty talks/offical ceremony/first contact ect. Jim and Spock are caught in middle of the war and are seperated for whatever reason, but not before Spock, in a stroke of genius or desperation, links them together without giving Jim all the facts about a mind link. Because of fighting, communication with Starfleet and the Enterprise is lost.

Others may be part of the landing party caught in the fighting. Author's descrestion.

One of our duo must be caught and held as a hostage and the other must be "recruited" and fighting for the other side. Not looking for serious torture of the hostage.

During the time the two are seperated, they become closer because of the telepathic link and talking through it, eventually falling in love with each other.

Must haves:

  • Abrams Universe
  • Inability to lie/hide anything in the link
  • Dramatic reunion
  • Happy ending
  • Battles
  • Badass!Kirk and badass!Spock
  • Escape attempts
  • "Captain, you almost make me believe in luck."
  • "Mr. Spock, you almost make me believe in miracles."

Hope to see:

  • Sex
  • Bones being Bones
  • Badass!Scotty commanding Enterprise
  • Sarek putting the diplomatic smackdown on one of the warring factions.

Also, would make me happy fangirl to see this take place as a civil war on New Vulcan, if author could pull it off. Maybe between those who believe Vulcans have gone too far with Surak's logic and those who think they haven't taken Surak's ideas far enough. That's just a jump point and in no way required.

Mostly, have fun!

Summary:

Jim turns 30.

What most people regard as a sobering milestone, a rude reminder of their mortality,  Jim views as the best gift one could possibly recieve. Spock shares Jim's views on birthdays.

And just to shake things up a bit, the story could be set right after a fantastically huge victory, where the entire crew are declared heroes.

I challenge you to portray a celebration of life!

I'd love it if Kirk and Spock are to come together on impulse; communicating their worries, joy and desires without  words.
