Ok this is a complete review of the Kirk/Spock/Bones Star Trek, starting with TOS & going through TAS & the movies, leading up to ST:XI. Being on both IMDb & STARTREK.COM message boards, I have encountered a lot of different arguments for & against ST:XI about just how canon worthy it is as well as Pine/Quinto/etc vs the original actors, especially Pine who a lot of people think did not get Kirk right.
It also addresses canon facts vs myths of Spock/Uhura, a major for/against argument on IMDb in particular for ST:XI about this one. Also, for & against, Spock/Uhura in general, some claiming there's no canon basis for it while others say the opposite.
According to Gene Roddenberry, Spock/Uhura were supposed to be together, but her being black & already doing something other than a maid, she did not need a white lover on top of it. So G.R. was forced to put that on the back burner & leave us with hints only of their courtship. (Even that inter-racial kiss was supposed to be Spock/Uhura but Shatner, being a bit of a glory hound, said something along the lines of: "If anyone is kissing her on tv, it's gonna be me!" So Nimoy stepped down from that role as he had no choice! LOL) I'll be watching out for these supposed hints among other things.
Also will be watching for Spock/Chapel, Kirk/Uhura & Uhura/Scotty as well as a secondary review set aside for a special fandom: Kirk/Spock. (Set aside since these reviews are originally posted on ST.COM & the IMDb board for ST:XI, some of the public aren't into K/S like we are. However, these reviews posted on IMDb & STARTREK.COM have converted some non-K/S believers already.tehehe) I do not use ideas from other fan fictions for this or any other topic. Everything is strictly based from what is shown on-screen.
This essay is basially an in-depth look at TOS/TAS, comparing it to ST:XI as well as finding any if at all canon facts on various fan fav pairings, including Spock/Chapel & Kirk/Spock. It includes:
overall general stuff on the plot/theme of each show of course
& then more in depth is:
anything remotely close to chris pine's version of kirk...so far there's a lot.
any spock/uhura hint that gene roddenberry left us in TOS...again ive got a few & not even done the first season. (meaning that spock's affection for uhura in ST:XI is so far spot on regardless of some people's complaints)
anything with spock being emotional/sexual without the use of a pon farr (some people claim that vulcans only have sex once every 7 years but this is not true & im just proving it canon-wise)....again as said before im still in 1st season & there are a few times this has happened. (also again meaning that so far zach quinto's spock...being even younger than here...is pretty much spot on regardless of some people's complaints)
& for a special fangroup:
anything remotely K/S...there will be a K/S break line between the regular reviews & the slash ones so non-K/S fans can just skip ahead to the next title or, if they're curious about the fuss, they can read that section as well. ive already gotten a few converted LOL
but anyway, K/S section is set apart so one doesnt have to if they dont want to; therefore, accommedating everyone as much as possible

On a last note, it is getting harder & harder to NOT find K/S canon material & I'm not even done the first season yet! LOL
(btw the reason I'm putting it here is because I need a place to save it. The threads on the message boards eventually fade away & my computer isn't always reliable. I simply don't want to lose these because it is a LOT of work. I hope this doesn't break any rules here. If so just let me know & I will find another place to store this where it will be safe.)
